i hate how jeremy and richard walk away when james starts his justification with the gunman

Don't worry. It's only because they knew that he could prove himself right with the ice in the barrel theory but could not prove that he was indeed looking for that on the day of the Arctic exploration special. It's a classic lose-lose situation. James May can't prove that he was actually looking for that, the other two can't prove he wasn't.

Alternatively you could point the muzzle at the sun and look into the open chamber to see if there is light coming down the barrel.
@gamedemon893 жыл бұрын
An incomplete block would still let light in

I take it you haven't used that style of shotgun before in icy conditions. And also the question has to be asked, what if it's not sunny?

May does have somewhat of a point, although you have to make sure there no rounds in the chamber when you decide to play with faith, pump action shotguns are relatively safe but even if there is 5% chance it could go off by accident if you look into the barrel, thats still 5% chance you are playing around with, unload the gun completely, then check, you can still look into the chamber if there is a round loaded in a pump action shotgun.

That's why he says about putting your finger in there while it's fully unloaded.

I'm from a rural area and I can tell you that everyone and their dog has a shotgun around here. They're legal for sporting use and so on if they're licensed.

+NicholasG28 it's the shotgun in the boot of The Holland & Holland Range Rover, they talked about it in the news

_sigh_ No, James, that is not the only way to check for a blocked barrel on a pump-action shotgun. What you're supposed to do is open the slide, then either hold a flashlight against the other end and see if you can see the light through the slide, or thread a cleaning rod up the barrel to see if it goes through. *Under absolutely no circumstances* do you put your face in front of the business end of the gun.

Well, it's a breach-loader, but you're correct. It's always better to look down the breach entrance instead of the barrel. You'll see blockage either way, but the barrel of any gun is always to be pointed in the direction of things you won't mind losing. I doubt you'd care to lose your eye/brainbox. It's much better to have your ex-wife check it from that angle instead.
