Ive got a 2005 in the same color. Got it in 2023 for $3250, 30 K miles. I love it. Vance and Hines pipes, and a Mustang seat.

Just found this video and I agree, they're a great bike. Mine's a 2007 and I've had it for 4 years now, but I hope to have it for many more years to come. I've done a few things, most recently to get a Clearview windshield that's +2 wider with a recurve at the top, then larger Chuckster fork lowers to help more with the buffeting from below that can happen on the highway. That has worked out very nicely and I'm very happy with the improvement. I also went darkside with a car tire on the back, after being disgusted with the short tire life I've seen with my past couple of tires, only around 6000 miles. It took a couple hundred miles to get completely used to it because it take a touch more counter steering, but now I can't picture going back and the bike handles great. BTW, you might want to use an app on your phone to confirm your speed, these things usually read at least a few mph high, mine was roughly 8%. It doesn't bug me, I just keep that in mind while I riding.

Thanks for the info, especially on the dark side tire. I’m considering it.

Congrats and good luck. Smart choice using a windscreen and side wind deflectors for the winter too.

You don't have to leave the keys in the ignition. Turn it on and put keys in the pocket.

I test rode the Vulcan 900 when I was looking at my first bike it was a couple years ago pretty nice ride I went with the shadow 1100 instead it was cheaper than the 900. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of windshields I don't know if they aren't the correct height for me on the highway it drives me nuts shadow I had and the vtx 1300 I have had one took them off.

Yeah me too I usually take the windshields off except during the winter I ride on the highway in the cold and it’s good to have the buffer.

What's the redline rpm on this bike?
@jamesemond7290
@jamesemond7290 2 жыл бұрын
I believe it’s 5,600 rpm’s, but I’ve never come close to hitting it. At 85 mph I’m only at about 3,300 rpm’s.

Not yet from the specs the horsepower looks close. They are beautiful but I’ve got to be careful with air cooled bikes. Sometimes it’s over 95° plus when I ride in the summer. So I needed liquid cooled. I’ve owned 10 motorcycles and they’ve all been liquid cooled. Thank you for watching and I will keep a lookout for one if I see one I’m gonna jump on it and make a video review.

I have an ‘08 Nomad. Same bike as here, just a different color. 2008 was the last year Kawasaki made the 1600 Nomad, which is why I bought it. The 1700 that replaced it in 2009 was ugly and cheap with all the tacky plastic parts that on mine are chrome. It’s been a great bike. Will cruise all day at 80 mph, will put you over 100 mph quicker than you’d expect for a tank, and at 830 lbs fully fueled, it’s a tank. Mine has aftermarket pipes, air intake, and a fuel controller, so it’s considerably quicker than it was when it was stock. Handles well at slow speeds, but if you don’t know what your doing, you’re going to have your hands full. It can be a bear sometimes, and it is not even close to being a beginner’s bike. If you haven’t logged significant miles on smaller bikes, I can assure you you won’t be pleased with this one. it’s torquey, heavy, and unforgiving. But if you have the experience, you’ll love it.

I definitely agree with you. It’s a great bike, i’ve owned 10 bikes. I keep three now and the Vulcan is awesome. It’s becoming my daily grinder.
