This was actually the first scene of "Kingdom of Heaven" that I ever saw -- I was channel-flipping on cable TV and randomly stumbled across it. And, while watching it, I noted the above-average, superior quality of the dialogue and the writing -- which is why I wasn't surprised to learn, later, that William Monaghan was the screenwriter. He's a damn fine writer.

i saw this movie in neutral spanish the first time, by a mexican dubbing voice studio, and the voice of King Baldwin was more realistic that this original one cos the voice in spanish was a soft voice affected by a sickness, i mean, the king had a sick person's voice, was a young voice, but when he talk you hear a sick person, this scene was very realistic by that detail, and inmediatly you love the wise and the strenght of the poor young sick king and, really, you want to be his assistance to have the chance to be near of him to help him and see his greatness, a great character the king Balwin, but in this scene in english the king sound like a healthy young guy, a young man with good health and lot of planes for future, althought his words of old wise you hear a healthy man, does not sound convincing, thats why i prefer the neutral spanish version of this movie, Balian also have a better interpretation in neutral spanish, his spanish voice is more humble, like the voice of a young man that want to learn how to be a better man, instead the voice of Bloom is a little bit arrogant, i invite to english speaker people that know the spanish language already to see this movie in neutral spanish and will see the diference
