You know, as much as daddy wu loves making his baby xianle's life miserable, he never actually get in the way of his love life.. he knew what the ring was but never bothered to take it from xianle.. maybe he thought, at least you have someone that is willing to stay with you no matter how low you have fallen... Cuz he was alone (yes, the 3 was with him but they were cursing him the whole time but his mei left him) and he know how that feels

Say, you really do have a point there. In a way, he really even could have taken things further, but he wasn't low, nor evil a lot of times, even when he really could have been. HOB has some seriously good character development, but they start off as something else too. At a lot of times in the past, he sure did have the assets to snatch that ring away. Hua Cheng giving that ring to the prince, was the most straightforward way of handing over his own fate to him. Now just imagine however, what even would have happened, had the prince 'failed' to protect such an object. Emperor Wu could have taken it hostage, but also could have destroyed it. *That..,* in so many ways of the word, would have been a tragedy.

Actually those 3 left him first, mei was the last person to leave him He had no one to rely on But if we think neither Xie Lian had anyone for 800 years, at least he didn’t know about them afterwards that many were keeping watch

@@hobbithallows those 3 never left, they tried to stop him, without mei's knowledge.. but ended up getting killed by their prince instead and then the cursed makes them stuck to his face, to the shocked of mei which then felt really betrayed thus leaving him (was told to leave because he dont wanna kill his mei as well)

I don't think that's entirely true. If I remember correctly, Jun Wu couldn't have killed Hua Cheng as a way to manipulate Xie Lian because he needed Hua Cheng to leave on his own volition. Jun Wu at least in his own opinion thought every last friend and believer left him, and if he wants to recreate this scenario for Xie Lian, and for him to turn into what Jun Wu is, then killing Hua Cheng wouldn't have worked, or in the worst case scenario, backfired. I say this with relative conviction only because during the fight in Mount Tonglu, Jun Wu was threatening/mentioning Xie Lian's past and what he did in his emo phase, leading to Wu Ming's death, to which Xie Lian panicked immediately since Hua Cheng was there to listen; in the best case scenario for Jun Wu, Hua Cheng would've found out about it and stopped his worship of Xie Lian, and then Xie Lian could finally become the next White Cloth Calamity/White No Face. Especially if one considers how upset Jun Wu seemed by the fact that Xie Lian, in fact, did have a believer left. So I definitely don't think he tolerated that out of his own goodwill.
