Thank you Tom for the tip. Just pushed myself through this exercise last weekend. Really took my turns and grip to next level quick. I’m amazed!!

I do not straight line. I enjoy turning too much. Great drill, steer and edge set while snowplowing then take it into parallel. Thanks Tom.

Great video . . . even for some instuctors. Obviously, it's important to be able to properly finish each turn. Thanks for sharing . . .

That is quite nice for working separation :) Just one thing to be aware of: see @2:00 while you demonstrate. Be very careful with your external knee entering inside. This is prone to injuries when you repeat turns and doing so in free skiing. However, your friend @6:00 does it the right way :)

Nice colour skis. Good video. Skiing is like boxing - its compact, tight but loose and reactive.

I use edge lock wedge with advanced students who often relate their goal is to get their feet closer together. They hate it. They always edge the inside ski and push the outside ski around in a skid blocking their hip to the outside. This is the reason they can't control the width of their stance. I find that stork turns put them on the outside ski then have them do wedge turns where they lift the inside ski but keep it in the wedge creating better angles then use Javelin turns to close the stance while maintaining the hip angulation during the turn. Few skiers understand that skill improvement must come from lower skill levels to progress to higher skill levels. Review of basics and refinements of precision create meaningful progress. Some skiers activly reject any wedge exercises and resent what they call regression. For these go into a very analytical mode and put each turn under a microscope. Over coach them with a barrage of tasks like hop turns they can't do, then go back to an effective progression..

2:14 Maybe more important that what to do was your demonstration of what not to do, or rather how to misunderstand the drill or purpose. I'm going to experiment with this in my lessons with the kidos this season and see how it goes. It seems like everyone is always so focused on getting the kids out of the wedge. Maybe a better focus would be using the wedge to learn short turns.

Hey mate, I have a question, because I see it many times from pro skiers, on the other hand I don´t see it from othrt pro skiers. If you make the turn, I can see in the slow mo, you lift your heel and the back of the ski slightly with the inside leg. I´m confused sometimes to do that or not. Greetings from Germany
