Oh Jesus, the good old F355 will give you a deep driving experiance. I had my Ferrari F355 GTS (a 2.7 Bosch motronic from '95) now just for 13 years. It's a blast and HE gives my goosebumps every day I go in my garage...

Great cars with a manual gearbox. I hired one for a weekend away about 20 years ago and loved it, especially the shrieking engine at high rpm and the wonderful gear change which was way better than on a 308QV I owned.

Secretly it is one of the best cars ever built. less known to the general public like some supper cars such as the F40 or Testerossa but a car that an owner can enjoy much more in the long term than the extreme supercars that are often inconvenient to use . the body work is perfect. simple lines, not too mach. less is more. that in combination with one of the best sounding engines makes this an incredibly beautiful car.

Much as I admire the guy at Car Crowds enthusiasm (as well as the type of cars he’s buying) there’s lot of talking things up going on there and I just don’t see the point in owning a tiny share in a car you’ll never experience properly. We are also in uncharted waters regarding the future of petrol cars and our classics. One bit of bad news or legislation from government and the arse could instantly drop out of the market. Buy them to drive not speculate over. Different strokes for different folks though. Nice to see two cars the same as I own in there. 996 GT3 and 205 GTi. 😉

You couldn’t buy a 2.7motronic F1 and the F1 accounts for the minority of the model range. The most common is the Berlinetta and the most common is the manual configuration.

2.7 or 5.2 is not that important for 355 buyers, most people buy this cars are after the best spec car. The rarest of them all are FHP Fiorano Handling Package cars that came out 98/99 and yeah not Series Fiorano that was for the US marked. FHP was for Europe. FHP cars have Challenge steering rack, different suspension ECU + different springs, drilled brake disc + red brake calipers, different swaybar so better cars in terms of handling. Also what he say regarding steering wheel is not correct from my understanding. This Momo wheel was never option from factory. Some challenge cars yeah swap out their non airbag steering wheel to Momo. The carbon bucket seats OEM are also rare. Rosso Corsa 355 are sadly not rare cars as most of them are Rosso Corsa. All 2.7 cars are manual cars. From 98-99 they started introduce F1 gear so the most rare 355 is F1 also Ferrari first F1 gear car for road. I bought 355 GTS F1 with FHP and bucket seats and car in blu Pozzi and got it converted to manual used all OEM parts + saved the F1 parts if one day can convert back. I think there was total 500x 355 GTS F1 ever produced.

The 355 has always been one of my favourite all time cars and is in my opinion, one of the prettiest Ferrari's ever, along with the 458. Money no object I would have a 355 over pretty much anything else. Super cool with an amazing sounding engine. Please get one for your garage Tom!😉
