That siren blast at the beginning is just awesome. You gotta love the glorious Haztec tones played at full volume (something we don't often hear in Hong Kong : /). Also it's nice that there's a bridge by the central fire station so you can film that pump engine from a high angle.

Thanks for the comments Trevor! 😄 Yup, I’m so glad that they don’t have volume controls in Singapore, but on the other hand it’s harder to catch then using the siren at all. Filming at the SCDF Central Fire Station can be an bit challenging because there is no perfect spot to position yourself that will allow a good view of all bay doors, but the bridge provided a nice perspective indeed.

@@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses for the latest fire engine that u film in this video does have volume control.. As for the Blue livery skin ambulance, the siren and lightings(blinkers) all comes from the solar panels on the roof of the ambulance. And for FYI, Ambulance siren volume control can be also automatically control by a sensor in front of the windscreen to differentiate between Day and Night.

Personally I do like the mix of red and blue, but where I live in the UK, our emergency vehicles are strictly blue (although doctors’ private cars sometimes have green, and one particular brigade have a couple of flashing amber lights upfront with their blues on some of their frontline vehicles). But it is actually illegal to have ANY forward facing red lights on any road vehicle over here. Reds are strictly for the rear.
@B345T1N355Official
@B345T1N355Official 10 ай бұрын
I also like the mix of red and blue, but I know I’m in the US so the lighting setups vary by state, and in my state, red white and blue is solely for police, fire and EMS can only use red and white. I think in a way if fire and EMS use red white and blue like police it might be too confusing on whether or not up ahead or somewhere is full of police activity or fire or EMS activity.

In Finland all responding vehicles use blue unless it's a police vehicle trying to pull you over. Red is only used for signaling that

@@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses luckily those tight restrictions have loosened. Every intersection has a red light camera and it used to be that if an emergency vehicle had to go through the red light, every red light they went through would be examined by city officials to determine whether or not they proceeded through that red light safely. It was a very tedious task But that is starting to change after emergency services made a huge fuss.

Nice compilation! Love the lighting package and sirens! I dont understand those tight strict rules that won't give emergency services possibility to go through traffic lights and make traffic pull over (they're used to it it seems, as I saw noone pulling over and emergency vehicles weren't using horn or smthg on those who don't make way, they don't force them)..
@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses
@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, those rules don’t make sense to me either. They often just respond with lights only, no siren use at all, and wait at every light. In my opinion it does not make sense to use lights at all if you are not going to go urgently, because it will either just confuse drivers or teach them that emergency vehicles are never in a rush. Then when they do have to go urgently and use the siren nobody knows what to do. Very counterproductive and confusing.

Fun fact: The decision to run red lights is made from the medical officers themselves. It is very rare to see emergency vehicles in SG run the reds (lights) Also based on the type of help needed (e.g cardiac arrests). CNA recently released a vid of their media crew join a medical team for calls

It says that the EMS services won't run red lights most of the time. The ambulance responding, would that be like a non-emergency kind of call but lights are still on because it's still a call?
@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses
@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses Жыл бұрын
It’s not a non-emergency response (they have a separate hotline for non-emergency calls), it’s more like a ‘low priority’ response. They only run red lights when it’s a high priority call, such as cardiac arrest. And yes, the lights are on because it is still an emergency call. However, I do not think that this system is well thought-out. If you have the lights on, but don’t use the siren or drive urgently, you are confusing the people on the road and even teaching them that emergency vehicles are not in a rush and don’t need to be given the right of way. I find it problematic.

@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses
@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses 4 ай бұрын
It only makes sense if the call is not life threatening and you turn both lights and siren off. Standing passively in traffic or at a red light with emergency lights flashing only confuses other drivers and makes people think that emergency vehicles are never in a rush (hence they won’t give way even when the siren is on). Singapore does many things right, but this is not one of them. You either commit to going with lights and sirens, in which case you go urgently, and around traffic/ through red lights, or you don’t.

@@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses Thanks! I have no idea about the surroundings they operate in in Singapore, but do you happen to know if they use it often? I don't know of a single regular emergency vehicle here that has something similar, but it could be that the services that cover recreational areas (dunes, forests) here do have something similar.
@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses
@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses Жыл бұрын
@@weeardguy I don’t know how often they would be using it, but since every new truck has it I assume it is needed. The Pump Ladders are the workhorse of the SCDF and respond to pretty much any type of incident. As far as I know many fire trucks in North America also have winch systems built in.
