Agreed. It was underwhelming. Needed far more adventure content - even if it was hexcrawl, travelling encounters. Glad I got the box and Corebook with the Kickstarter, but I was a little grumbly when we got Gabriel and not Rick. As I said on the pagethru, I have a feeling they expected a higher funding total to unlock more iconic characters as stretch goals. Although I think they might have shot themselves in the foot with that. (Not a good wound if you gotta escape the horde!)

The license is for The Walking Dead Universe, so while the original series may have ended, there are now three spin-off series currently on air. From that perspective, I wouldn't consider this "so late in the show's history" as the universe is very much alive and well.

I got my KS and I felt it was a bit underwhelming. I also thought the combat would be crunchier.

Man, I remember really wanting to grab a copy of the Tales from the Loop starter, but I heard so much negative about it that I skipped it. I generally expect more from Free League.

That's why I mentioned this reminds me of that Tales From the Loop starter. Granted, that box was even more barebones than this but we've come to expect so much more from Free League. ~ Jeff

This struck me as a bit of a strange product from a ways out. It doesn't look terrible to me, but I wonder if there may be an issue with this one of Free League hedging their bets on the content due to the cost of licensing.

The TV show is essentially a soap opera with zombies going "urgh, argh" in the background. The game reproduces that fairly well. It's not a playstyle I'm interested in, but it does achieve it effectively.
