Can't tell you how important it is to support black-owned, (or in carol daughter's case, black-founded) brands especially now! These are my two favorite brands for hair cream. It was only right to compare the best of the best!

I haven't seen the end yet, but I am partial to TGIN (hands down). I think TGIN will not disappoint you. It has never failed me yet.

Both sides look nice, but I'll choose TGIN - more definition and shine. Which one held up better for the week?

They both held up well. I didn't notice a difference in that aspect.

Hello, both sides look nice but the TGIN side looks better at the ends of the twists. I tried Carol's daughter before and didn't like it. I am 4B around the perimeter of my head and 4C in my middle of my head. Tfs!!

Thanks for sharing! I like how TGIN curls the entire strand too. I think coconut doesn’t work for everybody’s hair.

Both are great based on your results. I used to put the coco creme in my hair after a shampoo so the hair was wet. May be try to put water first to have the shine and the little curls at the end you've seen with tgin. I will definitively try tgin, my bottle of coco creme is now deserted !

I love the Carol's Daughter Cocoa Creme cream and mask! Carol's Daughter actually sold the company to Loreal but Lisa Price still run the day to day operations. I haven't used TGIN for years and don't remember how it worked.

Yea she did. I remember when people were pissed she sold it to a white-owned company. That’s why I said black-founded and not black-owned. But it’s great that she still basically runs it.

I haven’t tried the mask! Maybe I should

Really??? Maybe your have to take smaller sections and make them tighter so it’s not loose.

Never tried TGIN but Carol’s Daughter is thick beyond thick. I didn’t really care for the smell though. It doesn’t necessarily stink but there’s something I just don’t like about it.

You should definitely try it then. and really? i love the carol's daughter smell so much lol
