you gotta remember this was like 6 years after entering the Grand Line, I do think the recap was needed for most people 😂 And it's just the roundness of their heads that match bc of the afro, it's kind of a rib on him from the crew but Laboon would remember it too.

Sometimes I imagine telling the story of One Piece to people who've never heard of it before. Every time I do that, the one moment that I always picture is the reaction to the line "And that dear friend's name... was Laboon." In a series full of amazing reveals, this one is easily the best.

Yeah the flashbacks in this anime can get a bit excessive sometimes. One reason is to time fill so they don't catch up to the manga, and another reason is that there was like 6 or 7 years between these episodes when it aired.

The flashbacks are a bit excessive, but to be fair if you were watching One Piece as it came out then Laboon would have been more than 7 years ago... Also, this probably didn't play much of a role, but the 4Kids version literally replaced Laboon with an iceberg and skipped that arc completely so anyone who only saw that version would have been really confused without the flashbacks lol.

19:06 One of the major reasons I never watched the anime. These reactions are my first time seeing it because they've been padding the anime for years to avoid catching up to Oda in the manga.
