Aye, it's Latin. "Magna cum laude" means "with great honors/praises". It's the second best graduation title you can get at a university, after "summa cum laude" but before "cum laude".

You're right, the answer to the sphinx's riddle is "Man". Morning, 4 legs = Infant Noon, 2 legs = Adulthood Evening, 3 legs = Elderly (w/ cane) Also, Cum Laude is a real term used in American universities lol. It's latin for "with honors". Magus Cum Laude is a play off of "Magus", the latin word for mage, and "Magna Cum Laude" meaning "with great honors" and is what you would recieve graduating in the top 10% of your class 😂

Trying not to spoil, and with the preface of this being my humble, completely subjective opinion, I don't think this series is amazing. It's fun, it's kinda cute and has some great moments in it, but that's it. I guess I was expecting too much after seeing comments calling this One Punch Man mixed with Harry Potter, but the level of writing is really not at One-sensei's level. I still haven't seen the 2nd season, tho, maybe it gets deeper there.

there's a smidge more depth in s2 but ultimately it's still just a for shits and giggles anime tbh. Who knows maybe the manga is better and gets more interesting but for now it's just kinda for laughs
