One cannot go wrong with either Honda or Toyota quality. Their engines and transmissions are simply built to last a lifetime with minimum maintenance. Have an 07 Odyssey with 325,000 miles and 03 Tundra with 250,000 miles; both with original engine and transmission. Neither has been rebuilt; just normal wear and tear parts and fluid replacements.

For me Honda BRV-VX is the best and value for money when it comes to Safety, fuel economy and other usable features. Thank you for confirming my decision to get a Hyundai Stargazer. Test drove it out no lag during shift changes, NVH is great, leg and head rooms are better than expected. ALso tried the Veloz and Expander same feedback as yours. Did not consider the new BR-V at the onset cost muc h higher than the Stargazer. Would have been great if the Stargazer was equipped with a front and rear dashcam to do away with running cables around the unit's interior. IF factory equipped it will definitely be more seamless. . This convinced me to get the stargazer X. No regrets, had a santa fe and a tucson, parts are hard to find but it doesn't break down as much as other people think hyundai cars do. It's all in the maintenance and driving habits

I still chose Toyota, Honda and Suzuki! Fair enough si Veloz and BR-V since both has Toyota Safety Sense and Honda Sensing. Although si Veloz may 360 degree view while si BR-V has none. Power wise mas mataas hp ni BR-V over Veloz. Folding system sa Veloz is fully flat while sa BR-V may lift ng konti for the 3rd row seat. Again Veloz & BR-V still my choice. Including XL-7 in my choice due to its fuel economy and comfort with its suv styling same as the BR-V kahit di kasama sa comparison 😊

Good job with the review guys. Hats off to Stargazer owners - - - that is one solid MPV. Very consistent performer even with other reviews in the region. And super good looking. Not to take anything away from the other brands. All are awesome units. Really depends on the driver. I go for the BRV if want something smaller with the bells and whistles. The Veloz for practicality. This is a good everyday MPV. The Xpander is still good looking. But based on the review - was little bit caught up with its old format. Good that it has the chance to still improve in later versions I hope. The Stargazer..well all the good things combined with a competitive price tag and performance. Simple well balanced. Xpander GLS owner here. Maybe its lacking sa tech pero pro/tenured driver naman ako so I dont need those tech kasi pag driver ka talaga noon pa hindi mo na need niyan. It may provide you comfort but those tech are for newbies. I really bought XP 2023 because of the ground clearance and pogi looks compared to those mpvs out there. This is my opinion. I respect the review but still Im confident with my xpander especially pag may baha 👌👌 From vios to xpander by the way. Toyota matibay talaga we'll see if matibay din si Mitsubishi.

To be painfully honest, I feel quite bad for people who bought the 2023 Xpander Cross. Even before watching this grand comparo, I've seen tons of reviews of those featured MPVs and for a hefty price of 1.33 million pesos, it's the second-most expensive MPV after the Honda BR-V but the cheaper Stargazer and Veloz get more features than the Xpander Cross. And, yes, I can already feel people rebutting at me about the Xpander Cross's high ground clearance, aggressive looks, parts availability..... their top 3 ace cards to be played against other MPVs. They do themselves, but again, again, and then again, most buyers will take into consideration the most the value for money, and the Stargazer easily takes the CAKE, CAKE, CAKE, CAKE, CAKE. (stream cake by itzy btw🍰) So yeah. All I can say is that it just makes no sense to buy an Xpander Cross on the practical side. Either spend a few more 5-digit pesos for the most-feature packed BR-V, or just go for the Xpander GLS if one wants to get the Xpander line because most features that can be found on the Cross are also available on the cheaper GLS. But then again, best value for money, the Stargazer.

meron din + yang Xpander kahit ganyan yan nagagamit din yan sa malubak at bundukin na terrain compare sa Veloz na dadamage ung ilalim sumasagad sa matataas na hump specially pag full passengers. Good Test, but sana nainclude yung kung sino ang good if you are loaded with cargo and passengers since this is a family car. Then yung aftersales parts, yung hindi ka maghihintay ng MONTHS para sa parts and kung gano kaganda yung customer service nila and yung maintainability and quality, baka kasi maganda lang sa una pero after 2 to 3 years lalabas na yung mga sakit agad.

For me the battle is only between the brv and veloz. If budget is a concern go for veloz, otherwise will go for brv. It has the perfect balance of sporty and classy look, power, reliability, safety features and tech. But veloz is a good option, again if budget is a concern go for veloz. Turn off lang for me yung low ground clearance nya. xpander cross for me is trying hard to look macho na naging oa na too much blings here and there pero dami naman lacking na features for its price. If really eyeing for a mitsubishi brand xpander gls is already a good choice. Stargazer not a fan of its look, it’s also trying hard to be different. And if I will buy a car, i’ll buy the one na I’ll be proud and happy to drive. Yung masarap tingnan sa daan. 1. Brv 2. Veloz 3. XP cross 4. Stargazer This is my opinion lang naman ✌️

Xpanders from the oldest to the latest models have an evaporator for the 2nd row AC. They've always been mistaken to be blowers only because it has inlets just above the front row seats. The evaporator is located up there near the inlets. I've always thought they're cold and have good airflow, riding all 3 generations of the Xpander, so I don't really know why in this test they said it's not that cold or the airflow is quite low.

They praised the space and bottle holders of the hyundai, as well as the charging port at the back when they didn't even mention such for the xpander. Again, I'm not an xpander fan, but the way the contenders have been graded seems to be inconsistent. Way too much favor for the hyundai.

Before, we're torn between veloz and stargazer. I've just really loved how the interior of veloz looks plus the 360cam. After watching these videos, it helps me decide which is which, we'll go for comfort before style, at least for me, a lady driver, who doesn't need my car to look macho. SGX for me. I just wish, SGX has 360cam and I couldn't ask for more. I guess you really couldn't have it all hence the price😅

Agree, I recently bought a 2023 Avanza. A lot of people saying I should've bought this, should've bought that, etc. It's not like i haven't done any research and took into consideration my budget. Love your own. And the correct response from telling people that you bought a new car is "Congratulations".

Lol. No one is taking your car away from you sir. This review is for the benefit of future car buyers and it matters. Maybe not to you but to others. Personally I like the BRV but with this review, I’m leaning towards the SG. But of course choosing a car is subjective but facts/numbers don’t lie.

Great review! Every car has pros and cons. The only perfect car is the one that you're driving right now. So better choose the one that you think is the best for you. To all the buyers, go do research, visit dealers and do test drives. Select the one that your heart (and budget) truly desires.

I think the tests could be better if you take the points of each category put them in percentage as to which bears heavier weight in each category of features. I think safety points and crash ratings would help as well as ground clearance points should carry heavier weight than others and as such should have a bigger percentile in the overall grading. Throw in parts availability and after-sales service in there as well. After which, you could give a title to what each is best for such as best for flood, best for NVH, best for comfort, quietest cabin, best in tech, best for practicality, best safety, most balanced choice m, etc it will help people decide even better. You’re reviewing the car itself but when people buy a car they’re not just buying into the features, they also look into after sales and service cost and ease. And these things should also factor into the purchase of a vehicle.

They couldn't possibly accurately rate after sales since most of these cars are brand new. It's common sense for most people that Toyota would have the most spare parts by far.

@@arcaine101 well i would say after sales speaks more about the brand than the car model afterall, we wouldnt want to purchase a car with a bad reputation of aftersales service. but i agree most people by now should know that toyota has the most spare parts but still good to remind them that every now and then. Besides, things could change through the years and other brands may have caught up in terms of the aftersales and parts availability that the public may not really know about

in years 2005 to 2006, as service for the board of directors, general manager & clients, our company purchased two units of hyundai starex because they were cheaper with added features compared to toyota hi-ace & nissan urvan. the units were maintained by various hyundai service centers. starting years 2009, minor engine, transmission & electrical problems were observed with both starex vans. which are seldom experienced by the company's older toyota hi-ace vans. in year 2012, both the starex vans were almost unusable due to recurring engine & transmission problems despite help from various hyundai service centers. the board of directors & the general manager decided to purchase toyota hi-ace vans. in year 2014, both the starex vans were bidded-out to the public.

The fact that they did not inlcude the suzuki xl7 was way too disrespectful. Actually my friend was 5'9 and he fit in 3rd row in XL7 , xl7 would battle for space and comfort

We are considering the stargazer kahit hindi namin masyado type yung itsura nya.haha Kaya lang napansin ko lang si hyundai hindi consistent sa mga line up nila sa Pinas. Like yung mga previous models like kona,eon,accent etc na ok naman pero wala na dito sa Pinas pero available pa din naman sa ibang bansa. Ang tendency pag nawala na yung unit pati parts and accesories magiging pahirapan na din makahanap in the future.

Go for innova sir if kaya ng budget. We came from innova d4d and the only reason why hindi yung 2.8L na innova ang kinuha namin is due to garage space.pero very happy kami sa napili namin.better driving experience and better fuel consumption.

honda and toyota reliabilities and long terms of use will compensate sa two years after these results..saka still peace of mind even after 5 years of ownerships..pag hyundai medyo may kaba na .mitsubishi is in the middle..

Guys, @TopGearPhilippines, i gotta say i love this kind of review, it feels organic, and well thought of... watching most if not all the car reviewers in ph, some are very matter of fact, listing all the information like a ppt presentation, others are fun but can be trying way too hard at times. this is a good balance. like the classic Top gear i watch growing up, its on brand that we get to see you guys interracting,agreeing or arguing with each others opinion. tho it would be too costly to always do a large scale comparo. this is top notch stuff! kudos

I don't think the G4 is a worthy opponent for the Vios and City. The G4 is more on the same category as the wigo and brio.

I like the Xpander Cross but I get its shortcomings. The parking issue can be easily resolved by getting parking sensors btw, thats like the easiest fix these days. While i do agree overall the Stargazer is a well put together package, its still too expensive and that drivers instument cowl is just ugly. Also why wasnt the XL7 included in this?

Good point on the parking sensors. I think the reviewers specifically stated in part 1 that they were reviewing compact MPVs (0:18 of video) and the XL7 is categorized as an SUV. Similarly the Veloz should not have been included as it is marketed as a crossover SUV, the Avanza should have taken its place in the review.

@@TheDadiDodo the XL7 is not a SUV no matter how badly Suzuki Philippines wants to make it one, its a crossover MPV at best. The dimensions of the XL7 match up with all the other competitors to top it off.

The Stargazer is really nice if only it did not look that ugly, looks are completely subjective. Although it checks all the boxes cant get over how it looks. But again amazing review 👍👍👍

Reliability and resale value is a close contest between toyota and honda...not sure why they haven't included fuel consumption because it's one of the biggest cost involving Car Ownership
