The fun thing about Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon is that it's now kind of an important monster in a modern Blue-Eyes deck. You banish a "Wishes for Eyes of Blue" spell in your graveyard to equip your normal Blue-Eyes with either Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon or the original Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, then you can immediately special summon Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon by sacrificing the equipped Blue-Eyes. If you used Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon for this, that guarantees you a single target protection. But if you use the original Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, that can set you up to fusion summon Dragon Master Magia. Not only that, but since Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon is unaffected by Trap effects, it is the perfect monster to have on the field while you have the True Light trap out, since it won't go to the graveyard when True Light is destroyed, and you can also bring back True Light after Tyrant attacks. The new Blue-Eyes support is an absolute godsend because of how much it actually fixes most of the problems in the archetype and gives what was once an irrelevant monster a real chance to shine.

I currently run Blue eyes on Master duel. Tyrant is my most common fusion summons and saves my behind more often than not. I am looking forward to the support as it will make my deck significantly more streamlined and consistent.

I run a 40 card blue-eyes that can reliably turn one a Chaos Max and play through most interactions. I’m thinking about putting together the FTK Blue-Eyes deck I once had irl since I can also usually get two blue-eyes and an alt out. Three of the same name for a 9k direct hit to the life points is insanity, but I’ve done it before.

The eye of Timaeus can transform a monster card into a dragon rider. The fang of critias can transform a trap card into a trap dragon. The claw of hermos can transform a monster card into a mystical weapon.

From time to time, Konami prints cards based on monsters that are technically in the anime but were actually never summoned. That's how we got cards like Cosmic Blazar Dragon (Yusei's Delta Accel Synchro monster from an erased timeline) and Clorless, Chaos King of Dark World (was going to be summoned via Super Poly but the Super Poly card was created improperly, causing the summon to fail). Who knows, maybe the insect Timaeus fusion might become a thing someday. Maybe the fusion monster itself will require you to discard Eye of Timaeus as part of its summoning requirement in order to bypass the card's ties to the Dark Magician archetype.

here's an idea for the other 2 united dragon that we haven't gotten yet: Critias the United Dragon Level 8, Light, Dragon, 2800 Atk/1000 Def effect: if you have at least 1 "Eyes of Blue", "white stone", "Maiden of White", "Azure-Eyes" or "Blue-Eyes" monster on your field, you can special summon this cad from your hand. During your Main Phase, you can reveal one Dragon fusion monster in your Extra Deck that mentions a trap card, send that mentioned trap card & this monster from your hand and/or field to the GY (if the mentioned trap card is facedown, reveal it) special summon that monster from your Extra Deck (this is treated as a fusion summon) Hermos the United Dragon level 8, Light, Dragon, Atk 2800/ Def: 1000 effect: if you control a Light Warrior, Light Spellcaster or Dark Dragon, you can special summon this card from your hand. During your main phase, you can reveal one Fusion Monster in you Extra Deck with the same Atk, Def & Attribute as another monster on your field, send this card, and that monster to the gy, special summon that fusion monster from your Extra Deck (this is treated as a Fusion summon)

One thing I feel like this archetype needs is a way to use the dragon’s power without having the named card in your hand (or on the field in Timeaus’s case). My idea for these cards is to use Chris, Sky, and Chris’s Grandfather (forgot his name, check to see if someone else already answered before commenting). Sky can special summon itself by revealing Timeaus and then becomes Dark Magician (or Dark Magician Girl if needed); Chris can be treated as any type of monster you want for Hermos or any trap card for Critias; and Chris’s Grandfather can substitute for any of the dragons and if used for Legend of Heart’s cost will increase your LP by 1000 and let you draw a card. Another thing the archetype needs is a way to bring out a single knight without wasting Legend of Heart, either temporarily or like using the proper spell. My idea for these later is a reference to when the dragons are first awakened and it’s called “Breaking of the Orichalcos Curse” and while it still needs to banish a legendary dragon, it doesn’t need the LP or a tribute; BUT it can only banish 1 legendary dragon and it has a hard once per turn. The former option would either be a quick-play spell or a trap, don’t have any ideas beyond that. I’ve thought about this a lot, a character in a story I’m tinkering with involving putting the Waking of Dragons in the manga-verse uses a deck around all three dragons.

Worth noting that Eye Of Timeaus works for ANY Dark Magician or Dark Magician Girl fusion making it essentially a substitute for some other more complex summons like Dark Flare Knight and Dark Paladin. It’s really useful if you are going for a Dark Magician themed deck.

I think it is also worth mentioning that The Eye of Timaeus can fusion summon ANY fusion monster listing a "Dark Magician" monster as material, so you could use it to summon Dark Paladin, Dark Flare Knight, and even Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon (if you really wanted to, Red-Eyes Fusion is more optimal) with only a single Dark Magician as material for each.

In terms of the scars for hermos and critias I would want to add something. Technically the scars could be there we just don't see them. For example hermos has his scar on his hand meaning there could be a hole in his hand hidden by his glow. So even if a finger is missing you don't see it since glows still have 5 fingers. For critias you don't see the lower part of his chin? Kin? Sorry English is not my main language so the scar could be there like right between your chin and the neck

I have most of these dragon knight cards, because i bought the Legendary dragon decks package containing Yugi's Waking the Dragon arc deck but mostly made with Dark Magician archetype, but combined with some of the Kaiba's cards like Crush Card Virus and Tyrant wing and even with most of the fusion monsters mentioned in this video. The only cards that i dont have of that archetype, that were mentioned in this video are, Timaeus the legendary dragon monster, Timaeus the Knight of destiny, Destruction dragon and Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon

Not sure about support but I'd love to see some of the dragons used with the other characters. Like a Timaeus based red eyes or blue eyes monster (hell make it "dragons of different types" and we get a red eye blue eyes fusion into a pseudo ultimate dragon with Timaeus as the third head.) one that note, if the other two dragons do get monster forms a fusion with them would be cool too. To be fair if you get stabbed in the eye that's never coming back, getting stabbed in the hand and in the jaw would at best leave a scar that can be hidden for Hermos for example, plus when they got stabbed it was when they were dragons so they're damage must have been less compared if it was done as a human.

The missing finger would have sparked outrage in Japan. Look at Piccolo’s hand in the manga and in the anime (as the anime would be more widely seen) Long story short meat packers (seen as low class people) would have missing fingers, and mid 90s they didn’t want to have missing body parts.

Timaeus, in my opinion, was done the absolute dirtiest. Unlike Critius or Hermos, who had roughly half a dozen Fusion Monsters that corresponded with them, Timaeus was the only one who had three Fusions, and all of them revolved around either the Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl.

Id like to think Hermos got struck in the palm not the finger. So there might bea scar on his palm which is hidden in his gauntlet. For Critias, maybe the scar is under his chin which you can’t see due to head positioning. (this would only explain their human forms though)

My headcanon is that the only reason Crush Card got errata and brought back from the ban list was cause they wanted to give its effect to Doom Virus Dragon instead, since it has the exact same effect as the original.

Honestly I hate what they did with Eyes of Timaeus cause while Critias and Hermos have a lot of potential to have more fusions centered around them (Critias works with Normal Traps and we have some of the most iconic ones to work with while Hermos could work with several monster types used by Joey, we have Machine with Jinzo and Beast-Warrior with Panther Warrior even we could include a Winged Beast with Harpie lady cause Mai had the card and Fiend with Kuriboh or Summoned Skull or Beast with Gazelle considering Yugi) While Timaeus is only Dark Magician support

Ya know I really wanna touch on something regarding how the dragon fusion monster cards work. Back in I think the Raphael duel analysis video it was said that the monsters don’t actually fuse they morph on the field, or at least Yugis did cause on the duel disk after DMG the dragon knight was summoned she was still DMG on the duel disk. But in Joeys duel with Valon, Valon summoned Rocket hermos cannon from joeys graveyard even though it’s established that these monster aren’t “real” or separate cards. It’s just something that came to me while watching this one.

What i remember watching the duel between Yugi and Dartz was that in the 4KIDS dub, Dartz claimed that he took care of them years ago while decades later i learn that he wasn't aware of the dragon's true form.

The cards that could've been is sad. Dark Chaos Dragon Master- Dark Magician of Chaos with Timaus Cybernetic Eye- Jinzo with Hermaus Got nothing for Kaiba XD. I’d also like to point out, regarding the knights’ magic destruction effect, that there specifically needed to be three of them in that duel with Dartz. Because Dartz had added two layers to the Orichalcos in Dueteros and Tritos, there needed to be three knights to deal with each individual spell.

I remember hearing a review or a interview about the reason why poison butterfly in the eye of Timaeus could not fuse and what they would’ve created if they did the reason why he really didn’t fuse was exactly like you said and the Fusion would’ve been poisonous dragon timaues It’s effect is by sending poisonous butterfly from your graveyard to the banished zone once per turn you can destroy one of your opponents field spell if the effect is negated return that monster back to the graveyard

I made 3 decks in legacy of the duelist link evolution based on combining the battle city, waking the dragons and the final season decks for yugi, kaiba and joey, i also updated cards with retrains and modified support. They worked pretty well. Only issue i really had was melding the Red-Eyes and Flame swordsman cards into the Joey deck. Still needed some work.

Socrates features heavily, because it is a dialogue between Plato and Socrates. You even show the title page of the English translation with Plato getting the author's credit.
