I know that Charlotte is seduced by the promises of the fake Sam, and finally persuaded when "Sam" pretends to be dying. And while it's true that Charlotte believes her Sam is still there (as if he were a victim of some kind of illness), she also knew beforehand that the virus was contagious and the infected violent. Her "take me" could be taken as her inviting death _or_ just being infected, which would fit Charlotte more as she is a gullible, airhead character. So yeah, I think your idea has more basis than mine 😂. My idea is more of a headcanon because when I watch the scene I sense that Charlotte is manipulated enough to accept the impostor's will and her own death (though clearly not in such a brutal way).

I just put on captions and during the speaking part of show stopping number I read this " hey crack just you me and steve let's do mark Layton"deal with that information as you will.
