The reason I hate Zero so much has almost nothing to do with the controls; rather, it's because it does so little do derive from 64, making it yet another reboot. Adventures and Assault did so much to drive 64's continuity, yet Zero retconned this for no good reason. I give Assault so much credit for being loyal to the fans of 64, while introducing lots of new lore.

I get why fans came to this conclusion but there has been no proof that Zero is a full on reboot or retcon or that they will continue that continuity. It could simply be just another retelling or a reintroduction. Even if there were plans of Zero being a start of a new continuity chances that is still the plan are low after the performance of the game.

It was truly my favourite. I really really wish they would just have kept onto this style for star fox and then expanding upon its universe... online multiplayer and even some rpg adventure elements to it.

To me the aparoid queen is to Starfox what Majora's Mask is to The Legend Of Zelda, a vilain that altough only apeared once, definitly left a impact due to how much of a treat, how dark and how straight up fucked up they where, the way that they both manage to be alien and inhuman yet are able to attack in such a personal way and give this sensation of true hopelessnes, affecting the entire world around them, truly vilains worth remebering and that can definitly stand side by side with the main vilains of their respective franchise and honestly i could even see the argue to say that they are even greater than them

This has got to be one of the most refreshing reviews I've seen. Adventures and Assault are my favorite. I cant stand the new games because theyre trying too hard to replicate 64 and dont do anything new. It got to the point where I now despise 64. And the Folf bomb was hysterical. Some things just shouldnt exist

I never really payed attention to the mid battle dialogue bits when I was a kid but after playing it again recently, this shit is FUCKED. The Sharpclaw (the main evil force of Adventures) got evicerated easily, Peppy talking like he's about to sacrifice himself before HE ACTUALLY DOES! This shit fucked me up man and I love it!

Thank you for making this. I compare it right now on the gamecube and the emulator by using the xbox controller and i can say, the dualstick controls are very good on the xbox one. the C stick on the gamecube controller is to small and it gives to much imput, it is not the games fault in my eyes, but whatever. I started with star fox adventures and loved it, by playing assualt i was confused why it is a shooter and not a main story teller, but it has the continuity what i wanted, really happy to have these games. I wish for more or atleast make a remaster/remake of these ones.

I noticed the new dialogue and I think you did a good job. As for the plot hole with the Aparoid homeworld, the first part about the Great Fox exploding would make the shield collapse long enough for Star Wolf to make it through. As for how did they escape, I just assumed the destruction of the planet made the shield dissolve. Either way, Assault is an amazing game. My favorite in the series. Top 5 game of all time.

While Star Fox 64 may be a more polished and "well made" game. Star Fox Assault has more of what I'm looking for in a Star Fox game. More timeless production, an orchestrated music score (like Star Trek and Star Wars), voice acting and story that is taken more seriously, a more in-depth multiplayer, more challenging difficulty, and missions where you select your craft at any time you please. Also Jim Walker played Fox in Super Smash Bros Brawl and was originally going to play Fox in 64 3D but Nintendo replaced him with Mike West for ...obvious reasons.

Subscribed, loving your Starfox series! I was lucky to have grown up with SF (Starfox on Snes was actually the first game I ever played in my life). I do feel you on them pulling back each time they tend to tease a death, however, while having General Pepper die would have been impactful, I had my jaw drop when Peppy came in and saved him. It didn't feel like a cheap Deux Ex Machina.

I've wanted to play this since I saw WBG's review, but I've only played the multiplayer mode, once, on someone else's copy. PAL GameCube games are rare.

I just finish it again. I love this game. Hard to say if it's nostalgia or not. By the way, you say the game is hard but i find it easy. I don't know if it's because i've play again and again and again during childhood. I had great time with the multiplayer. I think it's undrated.
