THÉO DE BLIC'S TUTORIALS S03E03 : GROUND HANDLING SPIN

Théo de Blic's tutorials is a free web serie where I give a few usefull tips on various aspect of paragliding. The tips I give are coming from an already long career as a professional pilot in acro paragliding.
In today's episode I will be talking about a really popular subject on social medias : The ground spin ! Basically the action of creating spins while ground handling. I have seen during the past years that pilots often enjoy a lot ground spins videos and they tend to be trading quite a lot. Since I have been ground handling since I was 6 years old I always found this trick quite easy.
There are several tutos on youtube about ground spins but I find some most of time uncompletes. They don't give all the informations I would like to give so I took the time to make my one, with my own advices in what I hope is a clear way. I do hope to see many pilots doing ground spins after they watched this tutorials because I think this is a really cool and useful training to improve ground handling skills !
It's also a good way to show off your amazing skills to young gullible pilots ! :D

Bjr, Bah flute ...on a les meilleurs pilotes au monde , et quand ils font des videos tuto, ils parlent anglais...Bravo pour ces beaux TuTos mais quand il y en a que pour les anglais....BCp plus compliqué à suivre en sous titre traduits meme s'ils sont de bien meilleur qualité que ceux des anglais...Merci quand meme, mais je suis sur que des videos de nos super pilotes francais en francais , meme les anglais feraient l'effort de sous titrer /comprendre...et nous vieux francais qu'est ce que ce serait + simple!

Great description Theo. The only slight problem is the colour scheme of the Ion - the white trailing edge makes it a bit difficult to see what is happening with the brakes.

It's easier on smaller gliders.

It’s not much easier on smaller wings it simply is different. 26 should work well you just need to improve your technic

ahah two douches, me too! xD I do think that pulling up does make a difference though as when you pull the brakes the pulleys pull on the Cs and distribute the pressure on brakes and Cs

Andre Bandarra actually no, by pulling on the Cs as you say, you decrease the internal pressure of the wing while what you want is keeping as much pressure as possible and also by rising your hands upwards you also put tension in mostly C2 and C3 (tips Cs) and so have the tip loosing more pressure and the brakes are less effective. In addition to that you loose a lot of precision and as well. If you spread your arms sideward instead of upward you pull only on C1 (so center C) which will give pressure and précession de the tip brakes and so give you precision and a better handling feeling !

Aujourd’hui seulement 10% de ma communauté et des gens qui me suivent sont français donc il est normal que je m’exprime en anglais pour être compris par les 90% de gens qui s’intéresse à mon travail. Ensuite je n’ai pas aujourd’hui une seule entreprise française qui me soutienne financièrement dans ma carrière. Les français ne soutiennent que très peu le sport de haut niveau et encore moins financièrement je suis donc payé par des entreprises étrangère qui eux parle anglais. Quand ton patron te parle en anglais tu lui réponds en anglais quand il t’engage pour que tu parles en anglais tu parles en anglais. Bien entendus si en France vous et vos entreprises étiez plus présent pour soutenir les athlètes français ils n’auraient pas besoin de s’exprimer en anglais ! Et enfin j’ai ajouté le sous titrage en français pour que les français ne parlant pas anglais puissent quand même comprendre !

@@theoflies : Et bien si vous voulez que les choses changent agissez autrement ! La majorité des supports sont en anglais et c'est cela qui fait mourir une langue et fait que des gens ne vous supporteront pas. Ensuite, si les athlètes français n'avaient pas que l'envie de se barrer pour aller planquer leur oseille en Suisse ou au Luxembourg, on n'en serait sans doute pas là non plus. Le problème est bien plus grand que vous ne le pensez.

Franchement déçu qu’un français fasse c’est Tuto en anglais. Sérieux les sous titres en anglais c’est pas suffisant ? En’.étant les sous titre en français ceux en anglais se barre pas, ça va trop vite c’est difficile, vraiment dommage. @@4filou760 bonjour, il y a la possibilité de mettre des sous titres en français déjà. De plus sur cette vidéo juste en terme de sous titrage il y'en a pour 8h de travail. Le montage total c'est 22h de travail au total.
