I think my favorite part at least in the first portion, I.E Back to the Future, is the weirdness around Jeremy breaking down with laughter at hearing the word cloaca. I truly do not understand why this adult man had a nervous breakdown when hearing the word. Also, the Revelation of Jeremy's real laugh! We all knew the one in the CinemaSins videos is exceedingly fake, but finally we have heard the real one

Biff likely didn't expect the second punch because it was coming from George's left hand. Back then left handed kids were often trained to be right handed because it was "correct". It's a common theory that the reason why George was able to lay out Biff with the left handed punch was because _George was naturally left handed._

I have a couple of fun stories about the series. 1. In grade 9, I hade to write a paper based on a scene from the first movie and what happened and I decided to write from the perspective of Einstein because I love dogs and seeing him was a pleasant surprise. 2. On the first day of summer vacation when I was still in high school, we saw that the Back to the Future trilogy was on Netflix and, since I never watched Back to the Future outside of the scene I wrote the paper on, my mom and I decided to binge the entire trilogy. It was a fun day.

George is left handed in this movie (you can see when he's writing his stories). Back in the day, especially with fighting in general or boxing, guys were pressured to fight orthodox (right handed). His first punch to Biff was blocked cause he swung with his weak right hand. When he got angry, he charged up that left on instinct (with Biff taken aback from seeing rage on George's face for the first time) and knocked Biff's head backwards. He discoverers he's a badass southpaw. He even shoves the cutting in kid with his left.

34:00 I would also add that a dog being able to locate and going to his former master's grave is not unheard of. Ever hear of Greyfriars Bobby? He was a terrier in 19th century Edinburgh whose owner passed away. The man was buried in Greyfriars Kirkyard. Bobby knew exactly which grave was his and spent most of his remaining life there, loyally watching over it. There was a family who would take him in each winter to protect him from the cold but he always returned unerringly to that specific grave when they let him out again. He currently has a statue and his collar, gifted to him by the lord provost at the time is on display in Edinburgh museum. This isn't even a unique situation. Other dogs around the world have been recorded as doing something similar when their masters died, finding and standing guard over their graves.

One thing to point out about the ending of BttF1 and the beginning of BttF2. There's a running theory that Doc wasn't helping Marty's kids. But instead helping Marty. Doc mentions "kids" when talking to Marty, yet the only kid who needs help is Marty Jr. His daughter is fine. Also, Jeremy's point does stand, but not for the reason he thinks. Why go back 30 years to pick up Marty. I know the plan is to use a young Marty to stand in, as was pointed out in the video, but doc was increadably rushed to get Marty in the car. So much that he had to bring Jennifer. (Which may or may not have been part of the plan) My point is that any day would have been fine if he wanted to avoid Jennifer. Unless there was something he was trying to save Marty from. Something was was going to be happening later that day or the next. The race with Needles. Doc learned you can't just tell someone something about the future. Maybe he already tried. Maybe he'd been trying over and over, which is why he was so rushed to get out of there. Another version was going to show up. Regardless, he had to show Marty how bad his future would be if he let his pride get the better of him. Thus having Marty confront Biff Jr to show him that letting his pride get in the way can lead to problems. But things went off the rails when Biff took the almanac.
@grizzly_manbanimation8436
@grizzly_manbanimation8436 2 жыл бұрын
Actually no his daughter wasn’t fine. If you were paying attention to the movie then you would know that after doc revealed to Marty what happens to his son he says that Marty’s daughter tries to break him out but gets caught and set for 20 years in prison. So yes both kids futures were in jeopardy. He only backtracked it to that one event. As for your second point it’s possible he didn’t actually know that Marty would be standing outside with his girlfriend at that moment. He just knew that Marty lived in that house so it’s a place he can frequently find him in. Even if he’s not there he can still find him easily by simply asking his folks or because they are good friends he just knows where to find him. He probably just intended to drive there to tell him about the problem and him alone and Jennifer being their was just an uncanny coincidence that he had to work around. Like he didn’t necessarily know where he would be or who he’d be with at that moment that’s just how it happened. Also doc never actually told marty about the accident that crushed his potential music career. Doc slipped up in the 3rd movie by saying he got into an accident but never disclosed the details. Doc was the one talking about dangers involving stuff like this so it makes sense to think he wouldn’t willingly break his own rules unless he absolutely had too. Another thing the movie doesn’t say or suggest that doc knew when the accident happened just that did.

I can answer the time travel "parallel" Martys thing with a simple answer "event horizon". As long as Marty doesn't affect his own existance, he remains unaffected when altering time
@jenx5870
@jenx5870 Жыл бұрын
An event horizon is the point of no return in a black hole. What you're talking about are parallel universes or alternate timelines. Or maybe multiverse theory. All time travel theories state that you can't interact with yourself. However, he did interact with, and changed the paths of those around him, which means that the Grandfather Paradox exists in the time travel used in BTTF. That leaves out multiverse because multiverse would have a plane where you did not exist because you were never born. BTTF is more in line with alternate timelines because they still lived the events, but those events were changed. Compare that to Harry Potter with a closed loop timeline where you can't change anything, and everything is set in stone. I find that with time travel in movies, you have to just suspend disbelief and enjoy, otherwise it will drive you crazy because the physics alone would make it impossible.
@michaeliv284

22:20 *Jeremy:* "Biff managed to be in the perfect random place to not only hear about the time machine, but get his hands on the sports almanac." There was nothing "random" about it. We saw just a few minutes earlier in the movie that Biff ran into Marty Jr. when our Marty was in plain view. So, seeing what appeared to be two of the same person in front of him, Biff was understandably curious (as literally anyone would be in that situation), and decided to follow Doc and Marty to figure out what was going on. If Jeremy was going to sin the movie for "convenience," then he picked the wrong moment to do so; he should have gone for the moment where Marty Jr. came out of the Cafe '80s at the right moment to run into Biff when our Marty was in plain view. It would still be a dumb sin, but at least it would actually fit that moment better than where he chose to place it.

I was one of the bullied kids in school. I was such a dork, that when we moved to another town and a completely different school, I got instantly bullied there too. One day I had enough, when a group of bullies slipped in front of me in the food line. I was really hungry, had waited over 20 minutes already and they got rude and physical when I confronted them about it. You know, the typical bully stuff. The one we all saw as the "leader of the bullies" (not that bullies have leaders, but the one that usually eggs others on) was in this group. I pushed him up against the wall and punched him in the forehead, apparently so hard he got a golfball-sized bump. A talk with the principal later, and that bully stayed away from me for the remainder of the year. He was no longer part of that group, as the other bullies kept bullying him for getting beaten by someone two years younger. Point of the story: Clocking the bully in the face can definitely change their behaviour towards you in the future!

Sadly charisma and confidence often have more to do with people being promoted over things like knowledge of the job. I've often seen highly knowledgeable people overlooked for promotion for someone who can sell their abilities a lot more naturally despite being a lot less knowledgeable in that field so if Biff and George ended up in the same line of work it is highly possible that due to Biff's confidence he would stand out more than the quiet and meekish George. Also, as a much more confident man, Biff would be able to command a room in a manner that George couldn't. Something integral to being a supervisor.

Marty looking like his distant ancestor is actually a thing. The genetics can have a person look like their parents or grandparents. As for Maggie looking Lorraine yeah that was a weird thing. What they could have done is have Michael J. Foxes real life girlfriend at the time play Maggie McFly. I mean does that seem like a bad thing. Anyways introducing Leia Thompson should have been easy to do. They could have had her be a teachers aid or Clara's friend or just some random person who interacts with Marty and Doc at the Clock Tower celebration.
@foxstarkiller
@foxstarkiller 2 жыл бұрын
As I already stated in my Super Thanks on the 'Oblivion' video, it was actually explained by Bob Gale in the audio commentaries for BTTF III that they gave the men in the McFly family line a genetic predisposition to be attracted to women that look like Lea Thompson in order to introduce her as Maggie.

@@foxstarkiller it's a weird thing just admit it. Marty's ancestor is meant to be Crispin Glover but thanks to his disagreement he wasn't in it. Marty looking like his ancestors great, great grandfather makes sense. The Leia Thompson being Marty's great, great grandmother makes no sense what so ever. Leia Thompson playing an ancestor to Loraine in 1885 would have they literally could have had an entirely different actress to play her. As I said it could have been Michael J. Foxes real life girlfriend that would have fit I mean it's not like she was doing anything at the time I'm assuming that part don't quote me on it.

A real sin CinemaSins could have used is the batteries Doc used to make the model Time Machine were just left behind on the model. This means there are AA batteries in 1885, 22 years before they were invented.

My dog not only could hear vehicles from quite a ways up the road coming, she could tell them apart and would react differently when someone she was familiar with was coming. So yeah Im pretty sure that dog couldve heard that van coming easy. 🧡🦇

Biff is also responsible for bringing love into Doc Brown's life when he took the Delorien and alters 1985 Doc and Marty had to go back to 1955 to fix it when the lightning struck the Delorien and sent the Doc back to 1885 he saves the Life of Clara Clayton marries her and has 2 sons.

Wanna know how much the 9-game World Series isn’t a sin? Because in just over 5 years (I don’t know the exact timeline of the strike resolution offhand, but I know the results) after the release of this film, Major League Baseball would undergo divisional realignment, adding a third division and a wild card, creating a whole playoff round with it, a best 3 out of 5. By 2015 ANOTHER playoff round was added, creating a single Wild Card Game between the top Wild Card teams, and that doesn’t even get into the expansion into Wild Card SERIES that begins with the 2022 playoffs. Just because they got the playoff expansion wrong doesn’t mean there wasn’t brainstorming in the league even back then

Whenever I see anyone point out the unrealism in using home fax in 2015, I just want to ask them to tell me exactly what communication methods we will use in 30 years. Considering since this film was made, phones have gone from wired, to satellite-connected, to networked locally, to accessing Internet wirelessly and communication has gone from calling to text messages to video calls to email and back to text messages. WE know we didn't need to print out the message in 2015, but there was no way for 1989 Zemeckis to know this. At the time, faxes in your homes were the new hot thing and it was teased that we were on the cusp of video calls, having already had video conferences in business settings. Every "futuristic" film right now assume we will have a variant of what we have today in the future too. Star Trek? That was filled with touch screens. Blade Runner 2? Holograms everywhere.

Also, when old biff was getting out of the delorean you can see his head fading away a little bit, removing the scene where it’s showing what actually happened to biff more clearly was a mistake tbh, since I’ve seen alot of people saying biff was having a heart attack which just isn’t true.

I figured that Doc got the walkie talkies in 2015 and planned to use them for the mission but decided not to. Those things have way too much range to be from 1985, so they must be powerful, futuristic walkie talkies.

There's a blooper in BTTF 3 where Seamus brings in a Roger Rabbit plush to the house set and pretends it's a dead rabbit for dinner. That blooper is funnier than anything CinemaSins has produced in its entire lifespan.

Also Clint Eastwood’s role in revenge of the creature was uncredited so it’s pretty understandable someone in 1955 with no internet wouldn’t know a what actor played a minor character especially when he wasn’t very well known at the time.

I remember seeing the advertisement trailer for Teen Wolf on TV in 1985, and the guy narrating trailer said "Michael J Fox is a "WOLF!!! Wolf wolf wolf wolf Wolf wolf wolf wolf..". Later of course I realized that the "WOLF!!!" part was Fox's teacher yelling that in class to remind the students that the author of the book they're supposed to read was Thomas J Wolf. And the "Wolf wolf wolf wolf.." part were the auditory hallucinations Fox was hearing during that same montage while in his classes. It was all edited together and placed in the trailer after narrator said, what I mentioned first paragraph
