I find it regrettable that all the well-known "comic book movie commentators" are just a bunch of cynical adults. They insist on viewing every piece of superhero content through a "mature" critical lens, unable to enjoy these movies and shows as a simple escape from reality. They're bitter adults who've outgrown comic books and such, but instead of accepting them for what they are, they selfishly want comic book movies and shows to grow up with them. It deeply appalls me that genuinely wholehearted franchises like the MCU are instantly disregarded and panned for not meeting their "sophisticated" expectations. I absolutely loathe the likes of The Dark Knight and the marvel Netflix shows for what they represent, even though I do not have anything against these things themselves.
