Other reason Steve stole the suit from the museum: Bucky doesn't know his modern suit, any lingering memories of Steve would feature his original outfit from WWII, he's trying to jolt his best friend's memory by presenting him with something familiar
@jessicadubois69606 жыл бұрын
Also in a deleted scene it shows Steve ditching his suit to throw off the team trying to find him, because there is a tracking device planted in the sheild suit. So he does actually need the old WWII suit for practical reasons.
@loganbigmo5 жыл бұрын
1) That memory jostling scene is fanfiction. It's not even the same suit from Cap 1. It's just something fans said as a reason why Cap switched suits. 2) A deleted scene is the reason Cap switched suits.
@ButterflyScarlet5 жыл бұрын
@@loganbigmo Unless that deleted scene got posted online, I couldn't have seen it, and fans make do. Secondly, unless you've watched the first movie recently or saw it multiple times anyone would be hard pressed to tell the difference. They look identical aside from the number of red stripes. An out of universe explanation: its a new movie occuring a few after FA. They could have just altered the design. An in universe explanation: the outfit is a historical artifact that's and since fabric, no matter how bulletproof it is, can rot or get discoloured the museum tried to reconstruct it as best they could.
@loganbigmo5 жыл бұрын
@@ButterflyScarlet Oh I wasn't trying to argue. I was just saying that the TWS historic suit looks visibly different than the one from TFA. Again, it's something most people probably didn't notice but it throws a wrench in the whole "he wore it to jog Bucky's memory thing." I know you said fans make do, but the way you said it made it sound like MCU fact, that the reason Steve stole it was for Bucky purposes. And yes, like all MCU deleted scenes, it has been posted online. I was always took the difference in the old suits between movies as the Smithsonian museum version being a suit INSPIRED from the original WW2 suit, and not a replica.
@JoahTheThread5ive5 жыл бұрын

2:20 Plus, Cap would’ve learned French anyways. He literally had a teammate on the Howling Commandos who only spoke French.
@jamesoblivion6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the automatic assumption that Cap has learned French sometime since his thaw, rather than during his time on the European Front, is bone stupid.
@pittland445 жыл бұрын
Also, Steve Rogers is not a stupid person. He is behind the times technologically when he thaws out, we see this, but it doesn't mean that his brain doesn't work or that he couldn't do something, like say, learn another language. The fact is that Steve is a smart guy who doubtless would have picked up at least some French while fighting in France and alongside the Free French Army during WW2. In fact, if you go back and watch First Avenger they very clearly fight in both France and Belgium, a country with a large French Speaking population. And that's not counting anything he might have learned in school (and the public schools in NY were a world better than they are now) as well as from any immigrant friends/neighbors/business associates he might have had in Brooklyn (which had and has French speakers from all over the world, including Europe, Canada, the Caribbean and Indochina). This kind of thing really bugs me because it's just flat out stupid and mean spirited.

I just figured it is about time. The events of each movie, with the exception of End Game, takes place over just a few days. During that time the characters are not in the position to request help. It is the same with Captain Marvel, Fury didn't call her during the Chitauri invasion because there wasn't enough time.
@legoworld2464 жыл бұрын
@@Ikajo Also, during that movie he had the Avengers, and SHIELD still existed. They had a backup plan (nuking New York) if the Avengers failed. By the time of Infinity War, SHIELD had been dissolved due to the events of Winter Soldier, and most members of the Avengers were either missing or fugitives. Only 3 official Avengers remained, and of those 3, Vision had disappeared months prior, Iron Man had just gone missing after an UFO appeared over New York, and the only one remaining was War Machine. There were Outriders in Wakanda, so no Black Panther to help, and Fury most likely didn't know where the others were. And then suddenly people start turning to dust. So with that context, it's easy to see why would Fury call Captain Marvel in Infinity War and not during the battle of New York.

There is also the fact that Steve specifically chose the suit he wore during WWII hoping that it make Bucky start to remember Steve and who he is because Steve doesn’t want to kill his childhood friend that was very important to him. Also this was probably the time that I started to see CinemaSins as cringe because many of sins seemed to only be there just to complain about probably the best movie in the MCU and an equally great storyline in the comics. Seriously ever since they had Bucky in the MCU I had been excitedly awaiting their take on the Winter Soldier storyline because it really is that good and the movie thankfully turned out being a great movie too.

This is fantastic and I love you going over and pointing out things that are wrong in the original sin videos because they piss me off, so, thanks for that. There are probably a few other things that I would have had issue with but at the same time, I am so deep in Marvel theories and head cannons that their are scenes with mere looks that we have annualized down to what we believe to be it's core elements and then probably beyond. One such example is in the Avengers movie when Cap says "What, getting tired?" and Thor flying away we have annualized and come to the conclusion that Cap probably was expecting Thor to respond with some sarcastic comment, like Bucky would have, or the fact that Cap's so temperamental in the Avengers because he has been awake for 10 day, meaning, for him, losing Bucky, the war, crashing his plane into the ocean, thinking he would die, happened within the span of a few weeks, maybe a month, for him. And I am ranting... Whoops... TL;DR: You are great, and I am way to deep in theories and head cannons.

Both of you missed how the newspaper article about Howard Stark's death uses the same picture of Young Howard Stark. They used a picture from the 40s for a car accident in the 90s. Did Jay notice this?
@diegodunn-humphrey5123 жыл бұрын
But was the actor for older Howard stark even casted yet?
@Rodanguirus3 жыл бұрын
@@diegodunn-humphrey512 Slattery (who played Howard in Ant Man, Civil War, and Endgame) first played him in Iron Man 2. He played a version of the character from the 1970s, so still quite removed from the crash date, but could probably pass as an early 1990s Howard Stark much better. On the other hand, especially in the case of a public figure with a lifetime of achievements, there's nothing out of the ordinary about a newspaper including a photo of said person from when they were most recognizable.

If I were to make a sins video of this video.. I would only sin one thing: The SHIELD agent/Steath Strike suit aka "the garbage Steve Rogers suit that nobody asked for" is one of the most popular (pretty sure second most popular) movie Cap suit there is, and the one a lot of cosplayers prefer. And it's thanks to that suit Captain America doesn't look like a dork in pyjamas anymore like he did in Avengers. So... Dissing the Strike suit. *Ding.* (You could've also sinned the fact Jeremy didn't realise the Strike suit PROBABLY had a tracker in it. Which is why he got rid of it and needed a different suit. Y'know.. The movie doesn't explicitly say so, but it's common sense. But this is CinemaSins we're talking about after all I guess)

One “sin” that really bothered me was during the highway fight when Cap is in the bus and Winter Soldier and his team are still up on the bridge. Jeremy says they can’t have possibly known that Steve was in the bus, when there is was very deliberate shot from Bucky’s POV of him looking at the Shield to the bus (a shot conveniently left out of the video). Cap would not have left his only weapon lying there while under attack. Someone with no spy or military training would have made the logical leap to where Steve was, let alone a team of highly trained operatives. He also says that the bus bottom is impervious to bullets, when it clearly is not. bullets are shown hitting the roof, hence Steve running for his life (while trying not to fill him pants).
