For the "firefly" part, I don't even understand why Jeremy is complaining. No matter where you're from, "firefly" is the more scientific term for the insect. Since Melina is a scientist, it makes sense that she would use the term when speaking to her girls, and that, in turn, they would use it too.
@KnuckleHunkybuck3 жыл бұрын
I've always found "firefly" to be a bullshit name for them. If it were a flying insect whose abdomen were constantly lit or flickering, the term would make sense, but a lightning bug has brief, intermittent flashes much more akin to lightning strikes. That said, your reasoning is sound as is Birdman's that they aren't actually even American.

Just gonna add to the Tape scene, she calls it "her song" meaning she regularly listens to that specific song, her parents automatically know what she means so they also know this is "her song" so it's pretty reasonable to assume they could have this tape pre wound to a specific song to use for long car rides to calm her down. In regard to the tattoos, depending on the location on the body, the stars convey a prisoner's status. When worn on the knees, the stars are a sign of a prisoner who commands respect. The implied meaning is “I will never get on my knees in front of anyone.” Stars on the shoulders show that an inmate is a criminal 'authority'. I can't believe Jeremy wouldn't remove a sin to acknowledge Pugh's brilliance for comedy. She was the one that thought of the whole ongoing "poser" joke AND she ad libbed responding to Red Guardian asking if the Widow's were on their period. Personally I would also remove a sin for having Johansson, Pugh, Kurylenko, and Weisz in the same movie. Damn that's a hot line up.
@SiddharthShenoy3 жыл бұрын
That's problem tho. Sure the lines are funny and I did laugh at a couple of them. But given Yelena past of being unable to make single decision for the vast majority of her life, her personality doesn't match her history at all. @@SiddharthShenoy uh WHAT? I'm pointing out that Jeremy said "he'd almost remove a sin for them pointing out the uselessness of Natasha posing" but then sins it anyways. He credits the movie for addressing it, sins them anyway, and my point was that Pugh thought it up herself and deserved recognition for her own contributions. What did any of that have to do with some perceived shifting personality? Also, you misunderstood the scene at the dinner table. Neither widow acted like they did in their solo lives like they did around the "parents." Being at the dinner table brought out the old personalities they had stopped using. They actually noticed in the movie how their behavior changed. Are you Jeremy on a burner account?

I would like to add to the “how did she know which one was the accelerator” sin (not a direct quote but CinemaSins implied it) When watching Black Widow with my mum, she pointed out that the girls (Natasha and Yelana) already knew what to do in order to get the plane out of the hanger. So my mum came to the conclusion that they: A) Have done this before and that’s why Natasha knew what one was the accelerator. B) The “parents” had taught Nat what to do in this situation and that’s how she knew which one was the accelerator. I know Birdman's answer is better but I thought I would give another reason. Not only would the Controller work in the situation the movie presents, (his schtick is that he enslaves people with mind-control disks) but it also wouldn't be butchering a character if they went with Spymaster since there have been multiple people taking up that mantle. And before anyone corrects me, yes I know that they are Iron Man villains, but so were Hawkeye and Black Widow in the comics before they became heroes, and plenty of heroes juggle villains around, like Spider-Man and Daredevil on multiple occasions, so your argument is rendered mute.

I like the super hero pose thing as a gag, but that's what it is, it's a gag. See anyone who practices parkour or any serious martial art. If you're falling from a great height or parkouring, it is very common for 'buffer' poses to be a thing, specially after you roll. Contraty to what action movies portray, nobody does non-stop fighting for 10 minutes. Super hero poses are pretty much that, an artist either drawing a dynamic action pose or a dynamic 'brief respite' pose.

Lool the comment from the fanboy . Love your voice Birdman, and love your extensive work that you do to call out the bullshit of CinemaSins, which is far more difficult to do , and much more rewarding to watch . I’m hoping that they can turn it around. Hopefully since her “powers” were tech based, that means that they got the idea from somewhere else and decided to try to recreate it. Maybe the real taskmaster is out there and they wanted to make a tech version of his powers but they were only able to do it once and the person who made it is now dead or something. Or maybe Tony knew about taskmaster and decided to create the tech to counter him but then the tech was stolen and sold by the vulture in Spider-Man Homecoming or something like that. Or maybe Tony lost it some other way, idk. Then it ended up in Russian bad dudes hands and he gave it to his daughter. Many paths marvel could take to fix this but I doubt they will because they made their progressive stance with a powerful female taking over a males roll to push us further down into the dirt where we belong! Lol

It's the way a lot of us feel now, which is why I like this channel so much, and Jay Exci before it. CS has gotten lazy, and just make 20min videos with the same lame jokes. Their older, shorter vids were somehow more in depth. It's like how I like Marvel and the characters in this, but didn't like the movie. Not hate, it's not Thor 2: the Dark Thor, but it should have been better than it was. I criticize out of love, like a terrible parent.

I feel I have to nitpick the airplane scene at the beginning. I'm willing to bet that they have a comment Natasha has basic training with the airplane. Taskmaster not noticing Iron Maiden is really Black Widow is handwavable. It's not the original Taskmaster, who stands a chance to have noticed. But, we're talking about a mind controlled Widow with instructions to bring everyone back. Is not familiar with Iron Maiden. Only really familiar with Natasha fighting and not in general. Which is probably very similar to every other Widow. We also don't know if mimicry is specific Antonia or a general Widow thing enhanced by mind control and cyborg parts. Natasha is a master spy that has impersonated someone so well that their friends don't notice. The real sin is that the face mask somehow changes height. When Melina reveals herself, she gains a couple inches. Rachel Weisz is 3 inches taller than Scarlett.
@maxrichards38812 жыл бұрын
3 inches is barely noticeable. Birdman has a direct explanation of minute differences in height in his Days of Future Past video.

In addition to Birdman's remark leading up to 10:32 the camera is tricking us into thinking that they are pointing their prop guns at each other when the actors are actually not standing on the same horizontal. One of them is several feet in front of the other, but because the camera is directly in front of them it just looks like they are on the same line, which makes Arric Bawin's colossal ignorance of firearms safety even more egregious.

I absolutely did not expect the Natasha pulling a switcheroo with Melina, but wholeheartedly approve of it because it was a great reuse of her doing so in Winter Soldier, and exactly the kind of situation in which to do so (for infiltration purposes.) And unrelated, it's absolutely fireflies. In what context does anyone derive the notion of lightning from those little beautiful glow-bugs?

Imagine people complain about ‘same vs same’ battles. Why does he (Cinemasins) want complete mismatches? Like does anyone really want a fight of Spiderman Vs The Sentry? Yamcha Vs Beerus? Polka Dot Man Vs Reverse Flash? And before you could say that’s possible, I meant an actual fight directly, not some “prep time” situation. Like seriously? Cinemasins wants to ruin entertainment. Tho it’s already happen when Cinemasins degraded movies with the worst criticisms that has do nothing with this movie.
@InsidetheEclipse213 жыл бұрын
Same versus same is less about similar level and more about fighting a doppelganger (Hulk versus Red Hulk, Flash versus Reverse Flash, etc.) Compare Wolverine versus Sabertooth or Aquaman versus Black Manta. Still evenly matched but not a mirror match. It's still an overdone complaint, but still.
