Th400 piston install tool

This is a video to help you make or have a th400 piston install tool made. This tool is the same as a Kent Moore j21409. I give the dimensions in the Video and show you how to use it. I also reference another tool that can be purchased on eBay.

I bought a steel ring myself.and been thinking of sanding to outside so it sits just a little lower in the bore and the seal gets a little more past the lip.

Any update on the tool? Did it hold up to multiple uses?

The key is to have it sit really tight to the bottom. I’d give it a try and sand it a little or file it.

Are there lip seal installer tools available for the TH350? If so, where can I find a set?

I looked around and I couldn’t find anything out there. I didn’t make anything for them seeing I really don’t do a lot of them. Or at least I try to do th400s over them.

how much would you charge to build one? Can't find anything anywhere.

I could but it take a long time to machine. That’s the main reason I gave the dimensions so people can make it themselves. For me when I make stuff for myself my time is free but when I make stuff for other people it’s not so much. And it sucks when you mess up on something that takes so long.
