Thank you for the presentation, and wonderful singing. I noticed a few of the Western scales overlap with some of the Indian thaats. Namely: Minor scale to, 2nd from right. Double Hamonic minor scale, far right. Major scale, Bilawal Lydian mode of any major scale, Kalyan Some of the scales further left sith the raised fourth scale degree sound nice.

Excellent Omkar. A very useful effort. This reminds me of the music programme SANGEETH SARITHA, being aired by AIR, VV Bharathi, Mumbai, SINCE MORE THAN 40 Years. A humble suggestion. While concluding, please sing a relevant song, even it is for 45 seconds. Pranam Manohat Soulay

Excellent demonstration and very easy to understand and follow ! Thank You .. One question .. why is that none of the thats which have tivra madhyam ( essentially off shoots of Kalyan ) do not have komal nishad ? Is it something to do with sa pa / sa ma sangati ?
@OmkarnathHavaldar3 жыл бұрын
Namaskara Sir, In Hindustani Classical music, we don't have Ragas with Teevra Ma and Komal Ni, which is one of principles of the Raags. There are a few exceptions to this rule, like Raga Saraswati and Madhukauns to name a few. Hence in the 10 Thaats which are popular, Teevra Ma and Komal Ni is not included.
