Thank you for sharing this recipe with us. I'ma say I have tried your tofu chicken recipe last week and it was amazing. I'm thrilled to see there might be a simpler faster way of doing it. But it was still fine the way it was before it worked and I was so glad that I made it. I used it in a Kung Pao recipe.

How much do you think this meal is? If you have a chinatown in your area all of these ingredients would cost maybe $1 max.

@@omari6108 Not everyone lives where these would be readily available. A block of tofu by itself is at least 2$. A can of coconut milk is 2-3 dollars, veggies might be just over a buck or two depending on season and area. Rice is pennies. While this recipe can be done cheaply, it would be nice to see more like it.

Can I suggest something for those who own an airfryer? Chunk in whatever size firm tofu chunks into your air fryer NO NEED FOR OIL! 200 degrees and 15 minutes later you have amazing chewy tofu chunks!

LillyCashh MSP it’s been so much fun for me since switching, learning new ingredients (nutritional yeast, aquafaba, liquid smoke just to name a few!) and finding out cauliflower, oyster mushrooms etc can have a meaty texture. @@dadagecha1311 Sorry, to hear that. That's insane. It's always been relatively cheap, both when I've bought in Canada and in the U.S. (California). But I always go to Asian market, where tofu is always cheaper than in larger non-Asian supermarkets..

@@happyfreeky the price of tofu in a region largely depends on the production of soya and the whether there's a market for it. I am from East Africa, specifically Kenya, the soya produced goes into a lot of other products but not tofu, in fact all of the tofu Ave ever seen in the marts is imported. Even the restaurants that serve it, make their own.

Digging the no press method, since I don't have a tofu press and I didn't feel like breaking out the tools to make one (because I'm too cheap to buy one). I actually tried tofu for the first time after watching your tofu chicken video and I kinda winged the prep on it and ended up doing it similar to what you've done here, sans the baking and cornflour. Great video.

Normally we put the paste in the pan first and stir for a little bit so the smell was good then coconut milk then veggies and meat ( tofu)
