Many many years ago, a boy dedicated this song to me. I was living in Cali and him in Wisconsin. We did not end up together. Too young to really know what love was. Years later, I married the boy next door. My soulmate.

Wow mine was like I married the guy that like downstairs too. My husband knew me when I was 6 years old. When they came to the United States in 1979, we all lived in Illinois, his older brother married to one of our relatives so they would moved wherever his brothers in-laws moved. We all moved to Oklahoma in 81 or 82, than my husband they stayed in Oklahoma and my family moved to California in 82-83 and the we moved to Milwaukee Wisconsin in October 1983 and we’ve been here ever since, than after my husband graduated high school from Tulsa Oklahoma in 84 than they moved to Milwaukee also. At the time he was 18 and I was only 10. My husband traveled everywhere, he had all his fun as a single guy. His last stop was California Hmong New Year in 1989 and when he got back on January 2nd he came over to visit me and then we got married the next day 😇 We never dated at all, and We got married in January 3, 1990 when I was 15 and he was 23 ( legal age is 27 ) We’ve been married for 31 years and have 7 wonderful children and 3 grandchildren ❤️

In my early teens, a boy dedicated this song to me through one of the Hmong radio stations. I never heard it because I was only 12-13 and didn’t even know how to get to that station. But i knew it was puppy love. Because I missed the dedication, he recorded it onto a cassette tape. That was the first time I’ve heard of Sounders..We lived in the same state but cities away and we were still too young to drive so it did feel like 1000 miles apart..He then moved to Wisc and I got married to someone else. By chance, we met again some 20 yrs later. How life changes and you realized some things were never meant to be...but Thai , you are awesome. I had the privelege to hear you sing live once at my brother’s party a few years ago. It was at his backyard in Stockton, California. My brother’s name is Tsav Ntaj Yaj..

I met my first love the very first year that Sounders debuted. Voltage concert tickets were sold out so we decided to attend Sounders instead and it did not disappoint. This song takes me back since we lived in different states. The anticipation of waiting for my love to call and to write me was exciting. We did not end up together due to some miscommunication. However, my love remained unmarried and we met again many years later.
