The truck driver would take you anyway. So the first guys wanted to tip him (not the fee). I’m sure the first guy adore you since you are a nice young man . And he knew which truck to go to Pai that’s why he took his time to help you hitchhike. Thank you for taking VDO. I never been to the canyon yet (I’m a local in Chiangmai) Enjoy Thailand and have a safe trip.

Most of transport company have rules that driver do not pick up any hitchhiking because they will waste their time and some time hitchhiking might rob their truck. You’re lucky that a pick up truck driver call this truck and tip him a hundred baht(may be) to let him pick you up.

The problem is the word “Pai” if you say it too quick it also means the word “go” in Thai. So they may stop for you and then they hear you say Pai so they go and drive away 😂😂😂

Don't speak too fast to Thai people. Thai people don't have very good English.😅 You can say short word, polite words. Don't say too much words because they don't understand.😮 Try to say it inThai. Study some Thai language They love hear Thai speaking by forienger.😊 You are wrong to wave your hand for vehichle.😮 You can show them thumbs up😊 They understand what you want. If you want the truck's help , bring a sign in Thai and post. You need a big white paper and pen.😊 Just show it.
