Thanks so much for your kind feedback. In Thailand you can only have 1 visa at a time, so you would need to choose. However, you could have the Smart Visa first and then switch to the Elite Visa, or start with the Elite Visa and switch to the Smart Visa in the future.

The Elite visa doesn't allow a path to get permanent residence either I think. Looks like they recently put it's price up as well, 5 years 600K baht, 10 years, 800K baht and 20 years has a 1 million and 2 million baht option. But it's a great option if you are under 50 years old, if not and you don't want to do business the retirement visa is a very cheap easy option.

Are you considered a resident of Thailand if you get the thai elite visa? Or are you still considered a non resident if you get the thai elite visa but don’t stay 180 days or more?

Hi Jake, thank you for reaching out. The official term is if you live in Thailand for 180 days you are considered a resident, but paying tax, for example, will depend on what you do in Thailand.

What visa is applicable for online content creators who want to live and work in Thailand?

There is no perfect visa for online creators yet, but the best would be setting up your own company and getting the Smart Visa or Non-B Visa and work permit through it.

It's legally allowed to work online as a digital nomad with the Thai Elite Visa, though, correct?

Hi Paul, thank you for getting in touch. Not every Elite visa comes with a work permit. There are certain categories of the Elite visa, such as the 20 year Elite visa, where you can apply for a work permit along with it. Otherwise, under the Thai law it is technically illegal to do any sort of work in Thailand without a proper work permit.
