Im trying to come up with reasons as to why a Smart S visa would be better than an elite visa? From what I can tell the only reason to go for a Smart over elite would be if you wanted to have working rights but even then im not sure if a smart visa allows working rights outside of the scope of work the visa was granted. If I crunch the numbers, based on figures from an agency I reached out to 55k agents fee + 10k thai immigration fee for first 6 months - 65k 2 yr extension approx 30-40k agent fee plus 20k thai immi = 55k Company set up costs approx = 70k Annual accounting fee approx 40k p.a Cost of annual insurance approx 40k p.a Total cost for 2.5 years = 65k + 55k + 70k + 40K (x2) + 40k (x2) = 350k 350k for 2.5 years visa or approx 700k for 5 years. This compares to the previous elite visa pricing (which I have been approved and am considering to take it) of 600k for five years What am I missing?

I didn't use a visa agency and saved a lot on upfront cost. Decided to do everything myself. It's not rocket science. The total cost for a 6 month Smart Visa was just 10,000 Baht. The Elite Visa is super expensive and not really necessary unless you intend on staying in The Kingdom for 20+ years. Just my two cents 😉

How much did you pay for creating the startup? Do you recommend a lawyer who can do for me? I was reading in somewhere, that there are no 4 Thais needed for creating a startup for smart visa S ? no minimum capital either? but you need a thai partner? Thanks

You said 600,000 B needs to be in a Thai bank account where I found this on their Smart Visa leafet that says //Having a deposit of no less than 600,000 Baht or equivalent in a bank account in Thailand or in the country of his/her nationality or residence. I hope the latter is correct. I wonder, how to provide such paperwork to prove you are the requires deposit in the bank acc. By monthly bank statement or simply screenshot from e-statement is also fine?

You will need to show 600K Baht in a Thai bank account after the first 6 months for the Smart Startup Visa.

@@AbroadInThailand Thanks for the clarification! I was wondering how on earth do you get the money into Thai bank account if they won't let you open an account without a specific Visa. PS. I wonder if I could get an Smart Visa if I hold a Design Patent (furniture) in Thailand and would like to start production for it in the country.. That would employ couple Thais and I would like to go around selling the product for businesses.

@@Pajune You can still open a Thai bank account if you don't have a work permit. It's not easy but can be done if you have the right contacts.
