Great video, very informative. What visa do you have and how often do you have to leave the country? Also, can you purchase a property in Thailand on a tourist or education visa or do you need to have a retirement or elite visa to do that?
@kippsguitar65394 ай бұрын
It's wrong, you probably don't need a visa depending on your nationality and yes anyone can buy Thai condos on selected projects, he really doesn't know and is obviously new here

None of the "new"visas that you were talking about that were announced have not been implemented as yet. Not until published in the Royal Gazette. "Visa on arrival" is different to the " visa exempt " stamp which is 30 days currently . Hopefully 60 days soon.?

Correct, but now all sorted
@sweetjane65065 ай бұрын
There's a difference between visa exemptions and visa on arrival. My understanding is that there are now 93 countries whose citizens are eligible for visa exemptions. This means no fees on arrival and few requirements. Previously the visa exemption was for 30 days, but it's now for 60 as of June 1. I'm sure I've gotten the exemptions with a ticket to a neighbouring country before and I don't think I've ever arrived with a picture. I think what you read was the visa on arrival, which Canadians, Americans, Australians and so on don't have to do. As always, travellers should double check everything, because stuff changes and rules aren't always clear.

These visas have yet to be implemented by the Thai government. They target at enticing more nomads and tourists to visit Thailand. As a backbone of the Thai economy, the government desperately needs to boost tourism to offset the slump of Chinese visitors.

Look at the lists you display starting 3min 7sec into your video and you'll see that several countries appear both on the exemtion list and the 15-day visa on arrival list. This makes no sense, and until they resolve this, these promised 60-dsy visas ara a no go. I'd imagine a diligent youtuber wold would look into this before posting a video or at least point out that discrepancy.

And this is how misinformation spreads. Someone with a platform sharing information on a topic that they don't know enough about. I know their intention is to be helpful but in the end it just confuses people because a lot of the information shared is incorrect. I know it came with the disclaimer "I'm not a visa expert" and "You should talk to a visa agent" but still producing content with incorrect info is more harmful than sharing no info at all.

Which will change into 60 days ...What is your point ?
@the_wandering_kiwi5 ай бұрын
@Moira1309 Yeah he kind of mucked up this section between 2:50 and 4:40. He merged the info for people entering on Tourist Visa Exemptions and Visa On Arrival together. They're actually two separate things and should be discussed separately because they have different sets of requirements for entry. He didn't mention entering on Tourist Visa Exemptions nor did he discuss the requirements for entering this way. I think that was an oversight considering this is how most people enter Thailand. Instead he spoke about the requirements for entering on a Visa on Arrival and the video made it seem like entering on a Tourist Visa Exemption had the same requirements as entering on a Visa on Arrival. This is incorrect and I can see by the comments that it is a source of confusion for those watching.

Why is everything about Thailand always so expensive, unclear, complicated and forever changing, immigration-wise? Can’t they learn anything from Cambodia which has the cheapest, easiest, most uncomplicated retirement visa in all of southeast Asia? If you’re 55 or older, just pay $290 for a 12-month, multiple-entry visa at ANY Travel Agency with no bank account or deposit required and NO 90-day reporting requirement. Simple. Easy. Quick. Not words you hear in Thailand!

Great news for me. I'm 59. Easy to get my retirement visa. Before now, you had to get it in your home country. Now I can get it in Thailand. If this video is correct. Plus , they doubled the time for the standard tourist visa from 30 to 60 days. Awesome. I'm a bloody Yank, BTW. I'm getting out of here, before the US Empire collapses completely, and that will happen soon. Bye bye America, and good riddance too.

Another young KZbinr without a clue giving false information, the first option is a VISA EXEMPTION NOT visa on arrival, it's absolutely not the same and only a few countries need visa on arrival, it's all dependant on your passport, the hype about return tickets accommodate proof and funds is rarely required unless you look suspicious or dress like a backpacker or digital nomad, its just not true, if you are going to give advice please double check your information and terminology, giving out incorrect information will cause major issues to inexperienced (like yourselves) and first time travellers, better to say nothing than incorrect advice, check with your embassy if in doubt as the rules differ significantly between countries ,it's NOT one size fits all

@N18DTK5 ай бұрын
You've forgot to mention the minimum income threshold required for the digital nomad visa which I believe (could be wrong) is around $80k USD salary for the last 2 years. So considerably more than the average "digital nomad" salary especially those starting out their nomad career in Asia i.e vlogger. This again makes it harder for the average person to move and stay/work in Thailand. Thailand as usual is targeting the "rich visitors" they should have learned by the lack of tourism that it's just become too exspensive compared to other countries nearby, and targeting the rich visitors isn't necessarily working, while trying to push out the average person..
