By the time you've finished saying Bangkok in Thai they have swiped your passport, both debit cards, your drivers licence, the spotted picture of you took when you were 14. Gone home quickly made a cup of tea come back and you still haven't finished.

I regret that I am not in agreement with you on your comments. It's an unfair statement. Petty crimes happen in all major cities where there are crowds. Try hanging out in Madrid or Mexico City or even Paris or any white man city. Ate you saying these crimes do not happen in these cities?

I like when some lakorn or Thai movies its says "su su na" that mean "fighting!" and when they say "jing jing na?" that mean "really?" in informal situation. I like its tone very much when they say that words haha

It's strange that Thais make the official way of saying something very complicated, then spell it more simply and say it even more simply. Like isn't "kup" as in "sawatdee krup" pronounced like krrlllup, with a trilled tongue? But then it is often simplified in English letters spelling to "krup," but pronounce "kup." I was trying to learn Thai for about 10 years, but then I gave up because I am too old to learn it.

กรรไกร Because it took me damn long to learn how to pronounce that xD I mean it's not that hard, but a rule applies for this word which is so rare in thai language... or at least I, personally, only know this word, where this rule is used. The rule that "รร" (ร = ro ruea) is pronounced as "an" instead of "rr". ภาษาอังกฤษ is as well such a confusing word for a beginner... the pronounciation is easy, but the spelling is somehow complicated. I don't understand to this day why "ฤ" (rue) is part of this word 🥲 oh and I also don't understand why the "ษ" (soo ruu-sii) is pronounced as a "t" here. That's one of these words where I just memorized the writing of. But maybe someone can explain to me the rather confusing writing of the word "english" in thai 😁 especially because that's not an ancient word stemming directly from Sanskrit or Khmer, where I could understand some discrepancies in modern writing. In some way it's a loan word you can say... well, I'm glad if someone could help me out here and expand my knowledge abt thai language :) ขอบใจล่วงหน้า!

i often hear the word sounding like "lao" in thai drama, the context seemed like it means "I" or "me" but not in a formal way. i seldom hear the word chan or phom to refer oneself in these drama. is there a non formal way to say "I"?
@greenhalcyon
@greenhalcyon 9 жыл бұрын
+indah sukmawati Yep, you're hearing people say เรา (rao). It means "we," but it can also be used as an informal way to say "I." People also use just their nickname, or พี่ (pee, older person) or น้อง (nohng, younger person), instead of the pronoun when they're speaking informally.
