I am not a religious person, and although I respect everyone's right to practice their religion in their own way, I must confess that I find some of these traditions totally weird. However, as the old saying goes, variety is the spice of life, so thank you for showing this.

Jim, thanks for watching these videos and providing feedback. Singapore is a multicultural country and some of the ethnic practices are weird and some are actually shocking. I'll remember to post advisories in the description of the videos.

Wow this is quite the preparation. I am just curious how come nobody bled with all that poking around 😱

I tried googling but could not find a satisfactory answer, whether it's science or spiritual. I will ask a Tamil friend who carries the Kavadi regularly and get back to you once I know.

It's believed that if you fast properly , murugan will take care of the pain for us if that makes sense , and I also think that the hooks and spikes are immediately covering the would and it's stopping the bleeding usually at the ending some people might bleed when they remove it :)

@@prabu3664 wow thank you so much Prabu. I learned something new and interesting today. It’s amazing fasting and the hook can help with the bleeding . I appreciate your insight on this 👍🏼🤩
