Khanom Bueang (ขนมเบื้อง) It is traditional Thai snack which can be traced back to Sukhothai period (1249-1428). Actually there are many kinds of toppings. But now only Foi Thong (strip of egg yolks) or shredded coconut or cream available for sales, as it is easier to prepare. There is a Thai saying “Ya lalaeng Khanom Bueang duay pak” (อย่าละเลงขนมเบื้องด้วยปาก) = Do not smear the pastries with your mouth, which mean “Do not just be good at talking but does nothing”.

It was painful watching the lady prepare those coconut things in one pan and move them to the other. It would make more sense to prepare them in the one and steam the same one
