Her words in the end, translated by a german: "everyone who wants to come to germany, we have to think about: What do we do? What about safety, and so on? But, in any case: the main thing is, that we reach our goals here in germany. Everyhing that happens, happens. And in the end, it will be worth it. Believe me, guys."

As a native speaker I'm quite impressed how good her German is after 2 years. She still makes grammar errors but she has very little accent. I have met quite a lot of Asian immigrants that don't speak with that little accent after decades of living here. Unfortunately she is right, that not everyone here likes foreigners and I'm glad that she doesn't let those idiots discourage her. I really don't know what these people are thinking. Yes, there are foreigners that come here and live of of wellfare. But that doesn't mean you can just assume that every immigrant is like this, especially as it should be common knowledge that those people are usually not Thai.

Very good article. Her German is really good for such a short period of time in Germany! Perhaps one advantage of Düsseldorf is that no dialect is spoken there like in the north or south of Germany. My wife (Miakeu) is from Nakhon Ratchasima, also from Isaan, and learned German very quickly too. Advantage of the Isaan dialect? And, one more thing, the paperwork for us Germans or other nationalities here in Thailand is just as complicated every year too. Not much different to Germany I guess. Thanks for your Video!
@pielmeierdieter3 ай бұрын
Well, the paperwork in Thailand for foreigners is much more: - normal retirement visa, only good for one year - additional to the visa every 3 month: the 90 days report - if you want to travel outside Thailand, you need an additional re-entry permit - you need a certificate of residence for every bigger thing you want to do: -- opening a bank account -- for Thai drivers license -- to buy a car or motorbike -- to sell a car or motorbike -- to buy a condo etc. etc. etc.

I don't understand the migration policies for European countries. They either seem to be too difficult or too easy. I have heard stories about hard-working Thai people failing to get visas even though they have a lot to offer and are prepared to work hard ... while these countries seem to fill up with people who get in almost too easily and who get given stuff paid for by tax payers who are struggling to support their own families, as described by Katie. It makes no sense. Sweden seems to be full of new migrants who have created gangs, while I have a Swedish friend who has struggled for years with his Thai wife to get her a long term residence visa. This weird two-tier system is driving hatred of foreigners.
@MarcusH...3 ай бұрын
True about Sweden. There are so many stories about well behaving, productive and hardworking foreigners that have built a proper life that get kicked out due to some minor technicality. And meanwhile all the criminals get so much given to them for free and they get to stay despite not providing anything in return to the country and repeat crimes time and time again. Often even without punishment, because somehow they're the "victims" despite obviously being criminals and bad people. It makes no sense whatsoever, it's insanity

@@MarcusH... A Thai-Swedish woman was killed by her boyfriend while she was 7 months pregnant. Her boyfriend was a Somali immigrant.
@Flo-vn9ty3 ай бұрын
The thing is we are talking about two different things here. On one hand people that try to migrate for work or because of a relationship or something simmilar and on the other hand people that come here seeking asylum. While 'normal' immigrants apply for a visa first and only come here if they got the visa, asylum seekers for obvious reasons come here first and apply for asylum when their here. That of cause doesn't mean that they all can stay here. The problem is that it takes much too long till the officials have decided if they grant those people asylum or not. I don't know about Sweden, but in Germany until this decision they are not even allowed to work.

Hoping not to sound disrespectful and not to damage her self-confidence, I would say that the pronunciation is quite good, but the grammar is mostly incorrect. Therefore, her advantage is that people understand the words that she is using and can guess what she intents to say. I think the main point is that she is not too shy to speak even though it's not really correct.
@Flo-vn9ty3 ай бұрын
What do you expect after just 2 years? German is totally different from Thai, so for Thai people, learning German is even harder than for people from other Western countries. I have seen many Asian immigrants that don't speak that good after decades of living jn Germany.
@niemandkeinmensch3 ай бұрын
@@Flo-vn9ty I don't expect anything from 2 years of learning German. Some immigrants in Germany struggle uttering the simplest sentences after decades. Her language skill is certainly impressive. It's just not really fluent for me and I would want people to get an honest assessment rather than pure glorification.
@Flo-vn9ty3 ай бұрын
@niemandkeinmensch I guess in that sense you are right. I also got the impression from the video that she herself doesn't really think she's fluent yet. I think it's just the video title that's not really accurate.

I think it's a bit misleading making out she went with nothing and it was a big gamble, As in reality she had the safety net of her German boyfriend. No-one goes anywhere without some sort of financially security and no doubt she wouldn't have been allowed a visa without being able to show that either she had the funds to support herself or her boyfriend had the finances to support her.
