Thameslink Class 377 Electrostar Rides: St Albans City to Catford (Fast) - 22/11/16

Video: My journey back home on two Thameslink Class 377 Electrostars from St Albans City to Catford. The first Electrostar I boarded was originally operating a Sutton service, but due to the severe delays affecting services it got cut back to Blackfriars making it a fast service non-stop between St Albans and St Pancras. The second one I boarded was the Sevenoaks bound train I spotted leaving St Albans, which I took to Catford.

Perhaps they have swapped places prohaps the Class 319 units are working the Bedford-Brighton

The Bedford-Sevenoaks service is normally worked by Class 319 units and The Class 377s normally worked the Bedford-Brightion, Bedford-Ashford International and Bedford Rochester services

They were leased or given to thameslink temporarily. I don't think all 377/2s were given the thameslink.

@@YelloDev Ohh ok that's interesting. But do you know about the 465s? Do they still call there? If not, when did they stop calling there and why?

@@YelloDev I know they definitely used to stop there but I havent seen one since 2014. They would terminate at Blackfriars but now all of them are non stop to Victoria. Im guessing that the thameslink route from Blackfriars to Sevenoaks used to be run by southeastern but was replaced because of the thameslink programme. Im not 100% sure though.

@@YelloDev The Catford Loop line is normally worked by Class 319 units when some of them got replaced by Class 377/5s on the Brighton main line in 2009 and replaced the Class 465s and Class 466s on the Catford Loop line

@@YelloDev Why was the Class 377 going to Sevenoaks? I thought the Sevenoaks service is normally worked by Class 319 units and the Class 377s normally work the Bedford- Brighton service prohaps they have swapped places prohaps the Class 319 units are working the Bedford-Brighton services
