If you want to watch a great show, watch TIMELESS. Time travel show, but it does a great job of illuminating less well know characters, including many black heroes I've never heard of. rollingout.com/2017/02/27/nbcs-timeless-tells-untold-stories-blacks-shaped-history-culture/

@@dee_seejay Oh no. Only 2 seasons then it got cancelled. But NBC are doing a mini movie to wrap things up. Even more Black History even season two. Shame it was cancelled. Cheesy as hell but one of most interesting shows on TV. Tons of unsung heroes black, white and everything in between.

Great interview and a very intelligent lady clearly. Glad her birthday is being marked today as it’s fitting. The interviewer asked some tough questions back then and even now but Buchi handled herself very well with class and dignity. I’m glad that the UK has come a long way now, in recognising the cultural wealth that different countries bring. Very intelligent woman and very inspiring conversation.

I love how the interviewer is a bit adversarial towards her. Even dismissive. And she replies with some humour and a smile. Very much a class act. “Done my 2.000 words” by 6 am. Wow!

AuntyM66 because the western media is only interested in dumbing you down and filling your head with useless garbage like Love Island that will never help you to navigate the reality of life in a world run and controlled by a white racist power structure which is intent on retaining their position of power while keeping black people in a position of inferiority.

@@mynewcolour Love Island is extremely 'new' by comparison so it's not a good example. 'Western Media' is responsible for this very programme and used to show programmes like this before. The problem is not really western media, it's more the younger generations not respecting the past.

@@claireosborne692 the only difference between interviewers today and this ignorant interviewer of back then is that todays interviewers are smart enough to hide their bigotry behind fake smiles and politically correct buzzwords , so really and truly nothing has changed except the fact that white people have learned to hide their racism and condescension in order to keep up this pretence of being decent and kind people, however once in a while the mask slips and we black people see the face of hatred and bigotry exposed in all its glory, the majority of white people in the UK today still look down on black people - facts!

PM you can’t generalise a whole race that’s a contradiction not ALL white people feel that way, I’m white and am not racist have NEVER been racist will NEVER be racist when I look at people I see people, I then get to no a person then I find out what kind of person they are!! Your reply is contradictory, racism is people that are brainwashed and close minded your reply is closed minded, you yourself cannot speak for other people as your not them, not all interviewers are fake you just think they are, not all white people see black people the way you say, you just think they do!! Do you see how racism continues your now doing it towards white people your generalising your perception towards a certain colour of person which is racist!! How about just see an individual no matter what gender or colour just a human being like you like me cz at the end of the day that’s what we all are x

@@claireosborne692 did you read the whole of my statement - I said the MAJORITY of white people and this is borne out by statistical evidence such as employment figures, housing, disproportionate sentencing in the UK judicial system, the list goes on. You say that you are not racist but I'm sure you will change your tune when you find out a black person earns more than you, lives in a better neighbourhood than you or is better educated than you as you won't be able to feel good about your whiteness anymore, i see this on a daily basis from hypocritical whites like you so your gaslighting protestations will not work on me.

I don't think that she means to be. She's trying to get to the heart of what this book is about and the reality of life for an African woman in Britain. The nerve! How dare she? She shouldn't, considering we Operated concentration camps in Southern Africa where over 27K people died. She shouldn't complain considering our time in India where we killed over 350 people who were walled in the Jallianwala Gardens (assasination) and when Brig. Dyer came home we raised £26K just to thank him for a job well done. We went to the West Indies and pillaged their resources, installed our kingdom upon them and taught them our ways, we boasted to them about our Kingdom and how dare they follow us home and then complain about racism. The nerve! Oh our own adminstration run 'British Gulags' in Kenya where we tortured the men and raped their women - possibly up to 100K African's died. How dare they come here and complain of racism when it was our heavenly ordained duty to civilise them and beat the backwardness out of them. How dare they come here and complain of racism when we've been over there and introduced our religion to them - We asked them to close their eyes and place their hand on the Bible so we could pray and by the time we finished praying we had their land and they had the Bible. How dare they come here and complain!
