What so many people don’t realize is that Adam wrote his own songs with Marco, designed the sets of his live shows, designed his costumes, and that of the Ants as well, did his own make up (except for PC Revue and PC video), designed and storyboarded all his videos, designed his record sleeves and covers. The man is the epitome of a workaholic. Later, we would find out it was to keep the depression at bay. I just have so much respect for him. A true artist, who just happens to be devastatingly beautiful as well. Brilliant, mad genius ❤️

Her music style is different from Adam Ant's but it has the same level of originality from my point of view. She does all the songwriting, sings, produces, designes her costumes, directs her music videos and even her musicals.

Well, if you're a fan and you're a female, you know, it's all over. At that poand he'll be 70 this November, isn't it awesome? I don't think he'd ever do it. But I would be hard pressed to put into words. How disappointed I would be if he ever let someone put that face under the knife. There's no reason for it. You can't stop that kind of good looking. Read Mark Redmayne's 'Antmusic' biography of Adam and the Ants. It's a captivating read (much better than Adam's own biography). His breakdown of the end of Adam and the Ants in early 1982 exposes Adam's strengths and weaknesses. The 'Prince Charming' album is only saved by the 2 Number One singles on it, and the rest of it has rightly been cast into the dustbin of musical history. Which is in absolute juxtaposition to the 'Kings of the Wild Frontier' LP. Adam and the Ants were unsigned in early 1980. Within a year they had supreme dominance of the UK charts. Then Adam trashed the formula which gave him the success he so craved and his career nosedived. His references to Sinatra and Brando are now laughable, but that shouldn't have been the case. He had what it took to be a global superstar well into the end of the 80s, but he blew it by not focusing upon the fans he said he cared for so much. In sacking his Ants and going it alone (as such), he alienated his key audience, and even though 'Goody Two Shoes' was his third number one and a global hit, this was riding on the coattails of his previous bands success. He was in no way established enough to become a solo act. His co-songwriter - Marco Pirroni and Ants lead guitarist - was as much to blame for this untimely demise of the band, as was Adam (Pirroni refused to tour any longer and Adam was sick of yet another problematic bass player, in Gary Tibbs). No one could expect anyone to keep the mass appeal going for much longer than a 3-year period, but failing to write that crucial killer second album (with this line up), and then sacking his band, was with hindsight completely insane. Hubris destroys many of a promising career. Adam's success was a victim of his own very bad choices.
