Thoroughly enjoyed this, a good old fashioned detective drama, set in Scotland. More please.

Great crime detective story, good to know crime doesn't just happen in middle England, accents gave it a gritty edge

There are subtitles. This play is performed in a kind of standard, understandable, West Coast Scots. There are almost no dialect words used at all. It should be perfectly understandable to UK residents and accessible with a little concentration to non-UK English speakers. The use of the accent is to add authenticity and a feel for the place where the play is set. I'm sure the producers of the play considered the intelligibility of the dialogue. Perhaps, for their own agenda some people do not wish to understand. It's a matter of choice. The vast majority of plays available are in classic BBC received pronunciation. This play makes a refreshing change.

So true, if they find posh Scots dialects difficult to understand they should hear me after a few bevvies. Incomprehensible! 😂 In all seriousness, if people are using these stories to relax to I can understand that they may not want to decifer slang etc but these actors couldn't have been more understandable. Some folk jist luv tae moan, ahm no gien a 🤬 aboot it! 🤪❤😂

Excellent, twisty plot, well acted, and if people can't pay enough attention to suss out accents, they can stick to Dragnet episodes.

Why? There are lots of people that have English as a second language and I can assure you that this is much harder to completely follow than regular English.

After reading a few comments regarding the accents, I made sure that I was listening closely. At the very start there were thick accents with drop offs of what could be understood ... depending on who was speaking. If you're not use to listening to a Scottish accent, your going to be guessing from time to time just what was said. There were times when the accent was almost missing and so should be perfectly understandable to the average American ear.

No problem with the accents on this broadcast but I do have some difficulty with those on the current tv show The Responder the scouse accents and I guess the personal microphones the actors use now make the need for concentrated listening!

Gotta love people who take advantage of someones efforts for them FREE, who return rank, useless criticism as "thanks". Ignorance abounds. For me, also American, Scots are easy to understand in comparison to British with profuse native in-house verbage I may or may not get. Thanksalot for this enjoyable show!

It's not incomprehensible most of the words are clearly English delivered with a "Radio" Scottish accent, but there is a CC button to press for text which will help, in real life in Scotland the language is majorly incompressible, If you speak two or three languages a little effort would get you over this one!?!
