Angelique, enjoy your retirement. You deserve it. Your fighting spirit, and that draggone lefty forehand was everything! All the best to you on your new chapter.

Her win against Serena in 2016 was unbelievable. One of the very few times Serena admitted that she was simply outplayed. Serena said she just couldn’t match Kerber’s level that match. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her congratulate an opponent like that after losing a slam. They asked Serena why she made so many errors and she said it was because Angie was getting every ball back so it made her push more and higher risk resulting in errors. The match was electric. I was rooting for Serena but I had to give it up to Angie. She played mind blowing tennis that match!

I was at the 2016 AO the whole tourney - and watched both the SF where Serena annihilated Radwanska 6-0 the first set in a blizzard of unplayable winners. I saw Kerber beat Azarenka for the first time saving 5 set points in the QF then Konta. This match (the final vs Serena) was absolutely electric from beginning to end. Tense, incredibly well played, and the crowd was so into it. Kerber was unbelievably brilliant all match, returned serve like her name was Djokovic, and my god her passing shot winners and counter punching defense were unreal. Still the best women’s match I’ve ever seen live

@@marc-andregauthier5139 firstly, have you won 3 grand slams? and secondly, my point was that she didn't give up at 26, and kept on going until 28 to be the worlds oldest female world no 1, and a three time grand slam champion.

Great player. One of the few women who can go toe to toe vs Serena Williams. Congrats on her great career.

Playing 9 times and winning 3 times is hardly a toe-to-toe when Serena won 13 out of 19 sets and Angie winning 6. Just say you’re happy she won two slams against out of prime Serena

@@zukomnukwa1726 well, that's only half the truth. it is right, that in the early years Kerber was not up against Serena, but in 2016 and 2018 she was because she played with tactical masterclass. sharp angels, dangerous passing shots and a great forehand down the line were the key to her victories. you do not win 2 out of 3 Grand Slam Finals against Serena just by chance or Serena being "out of sorts" (which is the typical excuse when Serena loses against a player she is projected to win).
