I once saw a summon sign before malenia's door which started with "let". Quickly I realized its not the chad I was expecting but some other person named as "let her solo me". Alas he lived up to his name, he was naked and didn't rolled or dodged any of malenia's attacks and got killed instantly.

I might have met the same guy when first trying to beat Melania. I read his name wrong and thought "OMG It's him!" but once he entered the arena and I looked closely at his name as he died instantly, I had a good chuckle over that one.

I actually came across someone named “let me solo bayle” and they weren’t lying, I pitched in from time to time, but that person did the bulk of the work. Whoever you are “let me solo bayle” I salute you sir! Oh, and I just beat Malenia without summoning another person the other day, so still riding the high that win gave me. Honestly I didn't understand that bit, with how they said they named themselves "let me solo her" instead of "I will solo her" because they wanted people to pitch in. Both of those mean the same thing essentially... I never would have thought they were wanting anything other than to solo her with that title. Maybe if they'd named themselves "I can solo her" that would've communicated their intention better. Oh well, bit late for a name change by now lol...

for the question of the advise on how to learn a boss without spirit summon for the first run: if you get one shotted or the boss deals too much damage, just go exploring a little bit more and level up. If the boss kills you with only one or 2 "normal" hits, it s too difficult to learn (for a first run player). To learn moves faster you need to be very focused on what the boss is doing. Try to see, based on your build, if a heavy or light attack can be used after a enemy hit, that s hard to do, because you have to focus on 2 things, the fight that you are doing at that moment, and analyze every attack and remember how to dodge it and which attack can be used after it. If you don t focus enough you can just try in "blind" mode and learn by dying more times than the "focus" method, after some deaths you will coordinate better with you eye and do things automatically (but a lot more than if you focus a lot and actively try to analyze things in the right way). Last thing, you can also learn which types of elements are better against a boss and try to use something in your build that can deal more damage using same stats (without a respec), and the last thing, the staggers, you also should remember how the boss staggers himself with your attacks, and when you stun him. This is easier than learning dodges because you just have to remember how many attacks you need to use before the boss staggers or his posture is broken. Hope that helps.

I had the exact same experience with ds3 being my first souls game, it took me a week to beat Gundyr but the exhilaration when I beat him is why I play soulsborne games to this day.

A few questions here; What level are you on your main? 150 for standard multiplayer range? With the ungodly amount of new weapons the DLC has thrown at us, what is your current favorite weapon? Basegame+DLC included. Is there a better way to memorize Malenia's parry timings aside from just headbutting her with a parrying dagger until something happens? How do you generally go about making new builds? Just speedrun the items you want? Do you ever need to farm runes? If so, how do you do it? Normal Mohgwyn method?

My partner was fighting consort radahn on a whim while I was watching, after a handful of deaths he started summoning some people, some were great, some not so much until we ran into "let me solo him" even if was you or not, I want you to know we never would've had such a beautiful moment if it wasn't for you. That was the first time I really paid attention to elden ring, mostly so I could bond with my partner more. It was the first of many wins he got that day, but it was special to me. Not only did he get to beat a hard boss, not only did I gain a little interest in elden ring, but we also had that experience together. Something that can't be done again the exact same way. I hope you find, or create more experiences like that because it was something else.
