Wow, that's amazing. I have also purchased the Kiwi Bronze Pack 13 years ago during the closed beta. I would wait with excitement for those hourly closed beta keys on their forum. I still have a message from Chris Wilson from Nov 8th 2011 saying if I haven't gotten a key by the time the next patch would come out, I could message him again, eventually I got in and started playing in NOV of 2011. 13 years later I have just sent him a message saying thank you and how things change. I was 29 still single in 2011 so excited for the first POE. And now I'm 42 with 2 kids and the same or even more excited for POE2. And my older 8 year old son is ready to join me on POE 2. Pohx. I registered an account with GGG back in 2013. Like a lot of people, I tried the game after D3, looked at the passive tree and then immediately logged out. Fast forward to 2023 (I believe at the end of Crucible League), after the disappointment that was D4, I decided to give PoE a real shot. I came across your channel and RF was my first ever proper build. Needless to say, I was hooked. I deeply regret giving Blizzard £90 for the Ultimate Edition, however I enjoyed PoE so much that I decided to buy the $480 at the time to show my support. I was going back and forth with this decision as it's a large sum of money (for us normal people anyway) but it was 100% worth it. Since then, I've been buying one of the quarterly supporter packs and $480 each year. Like yourself, as soon as I watched the EA reveal I immediately bought the $480 without even thinking twice. So thank you, and GGG.

the supporter packs are indeed very, very expensive, but you can reasonably get away with spending $60 on the game to buy stash tabs, and then you're pretty much good to go (the game isn't f2p imo, it's p4c). GGG could make it cheaper (and should imo, by about 50%), but the game is still cheaper than D4's monetization and it's WAY WAY cheaper than something like Lost Ark for instance. I bought the $100 pack because it's all that I can spend right now but this game has brought me around 5000hours of gameplay and if you can afford to support a good developer, then you should.

I am a little confused on why people are so upset on Supporter packs. They are skins and some physical goods. I see supporter packs as GGG giving its players an excuse to give them some money since this is a F2P game. Like I understand that it is a lot of money to ask for however Supporter packs are not DLC or an expansion, you don't need them. It is just GGG saying 'Hey, I know some of you wanna show your support financially and these are just some ways you can do it while we also give you some cool things on the side.' Because of this I really don't see a problem to Supporter packs being as expensive as they are. Side note but I am pretty sure both Chris and Jonathon have both come out and said that they make the most money off of the $480 supporter pack and that helps them continue the game. It might be them just saying that because they like the extra cash flow or it could be an important part to helping them finance this game. Supporter packs are necessary for GGG to continue to make this game the way it is without outside pressures stepping in to force more monetization. I can back that concept completely. Personally I don't see any problem with Supporter packs as they are. I understand that not everyone can get them due to their economic situation BUT POE & PO2 are F2P. You can still enjoy the game and never have to worry.

Been watching you since the early days, I remember the move out video. As for GGG I will buy a supporter pack whenever I play an excessive amount during a league because I fully believe they should reap the rewards. Putting in 1,000's upon 1,000's of hours of playtime that I have done its the least I can do to buy that $480 pack. Plus the hoodie and shirts that come with it are pretty comfortable!

That Green Headset is very nostalgic! I swear I've seen you wearing them in 2014-15 as well!

For f2p games I actually like and invest time in I gotta spend the minimum of 70. Can’t count the times I’ve brought AAA games that absolutely sucked. Feels wrong not paying for something I enjoy

Want to show some love. Your rf guide helped me beat the pinnacle bosses for the first time and then the mapfarming from rf funded my first build that beat the uber pinnacles.

Lmao that was a wild time, the months leading up to your move, while I was still running my moms dialysis xD I actually just found a clip from back then during one of my 6 link sprees where I was linking each of them to you and GreatOnePoe xD Good times, glad we have grown out of them though xD

If you are someone that had played other games as service from other companies, and then you start playing PoE, GGG seems like an utopia company with the game, service and monetization system it provides. Those smart mfs deserve the support.

Well said. I have only got 1500 hrs in the game. Started Poe 1 really late. BUT… the enjoyment I have had from the game means a lot. Which is why I decided to buy the supporter pack for Poe 2. My way of thanking them for giving me something which I enjoy playing

Let us actually be grateful that TenCent is not ruining the GGG F2P concept.

I started following your channel because of MMOs videos , but more than 5 years ago I started playing PoE because of you 😅 I guess GGG should thank you as well because you probably influenced a lot of people to start playing and some of them, like me, bought more than 3 of those expensive core packs by now 😂

Thank You Pohx. You have made several of my leagues more enjoyable.

Awesome story, I've also been playing for about 10 years at this point, so the hype for POE 2 is huge. I really appreciate that the MTX aren't pay to win. GGG is really leading by example in so many ways.

Happily bought another 100 dollar supporter pack today, even though I already spent more than the 480 dollars earlier needed for early access key. I think I've logged more than 5000 hours in the game so far, and within the next ten years it'll be another 5k hours. That leaves me with about 5 cent per hour of entertainment. GGG has earned that, and more. If I have better finances down the line I'll happily buy more packs simply to support them.

What Pohx said at the begging is big true, treat the game as a demo or trial. I am the most frugal of most frugal people, never buy anything at full price, just super cheap. After about 1000 hours of gametime I finally decided you know what, this is one of the best games I've ever played, I should at least give them the value of a AAA title. So I bought the $60 Sunspire support pack and never regretted it. I admit I did buy a couple of stash tabs before that because playing without maps or currency tab is cancer, but best way I like to equate mtx to normies is a cost per hour breakdown of entertainment. Some might go see a Marvel movie for $20 at the theater and that will be about two hours of entertainment, or $10 per hour. If I spent $100 on a game I've spent 1000 hours in, that means I spent ten cents per hour to have fun. You aren't going to find another hobby on the planet for that level of money.

i have also spent around 1500$ on Supporter packs and usually i hide this kind of info when im with friends but when talking about poe im proud of it, because i bought the packs to support ggg and not for p2w reasons or anything like that. Poe is my favorite game to play with most hours spent ingame and they fully deserve it!

Good video! Couldn't agree more. Went with the $100 pack myself, for the moving hideout, but may yet upgrade it if I get my holiday bonus!

Good on you dude. You're a cool person and I respect this a lot.

This happens because people are used to the Fomo slop that AAA games have been pushing. 30$ in stash tabs is perfect and you don’t need anymore

I bought the 480 too, for the same reason, and i'm not even a content creator. GGG is what every industry should be

Thank you GGG for bringing us pohx. I’m just happy that GGG allowed the upgrade of supporter packs. I can save some for 1-2months then upgrade it until I reach the 480$.

I'm just gonna copy what people already said in the comments and pretty much every PoE player already knows. We spend money on this game because we want to, not because we have to. In this age of gaming, that's a damn blessing. $20 to $30 for the essentials or $50 for all stash tabs is a freaking steal. Heck, the last time a new "required" tab came out was years ago. What even was it, Blight? Imagine if they made a stash tab for every league that came out in 3.0. We are lucky, blessed by a game made by gamers for gamers. We cannot understate it and spread that love enough.
