Thank You Very Much

Being thankful is so important to God that He actually commands us to be thankful. A man in the New Testament by the name of Paul went through a tremendous amount of suffering and heartache that would cause anybody to be bitter and ungrateful and maybe even mad at God. He wrote these words, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (I Thessalonians 5:18) You may not feel very thankful right now because of where you are in your life. Even though you may not feel thankful you can be thankful. This great man tells us how to be thankful and why to be thankful.

Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; The Bible does say give thanks FOR all things, not just in all things. When mt wife was pregnant with our first child 9 years ago, she developed lupus. It began a downward spiral of diagnosis after diagnosis. Because of her health, she lost her job. However, because she lost her job, she stays home. She homeschooled our son beginning at 2 years old. Now, our kids are in private school. She's able to witness to people she wouldn't be able to otherwise. God has used her illness to shape me much more into His likeness. It's grown me up. It's hard and been really hard, but I think God for allowing my wife to get lupus.

Seek the Lord and He will be found of you. How do you seek the Lord? Read the Bible, pray, fast, go to church. But the most important thing is trust Christ as your Savior if you haven't. We're all sinners, breakers of God's law. Jesus paid our fine by dying on the cross. Put your faith and trust in Him, and He will save you and give you purpose. The purpose is telling others about Him.
