1:31 so fun fact, before Heinz came around and popularized tomato ketchup, many other kinds of ketchup existed, including grape ketchup. 22:50 The clear mask was actually super useful if you were someone who regularly interacted with a deaf person who read lips as part of communicating. Leopards don't typically attack humans. There's little need to warn people against them since they know you're there and don't attack. What does happen, however, is that their prey either falls out of the tree or they drop it as you walk by. Makes way more sense to be aware of the carcasses as you would never see the Leopard to begin with. So, no. It's not weirder at all. The cats most likely to attack are Lions and Tigers, anyway. That said: In some parts of the world, Lions and Tigers use pathways and game trails at different times from humans as a sort of cohabitation adaptation. Fun fact for you.
@DistractedGlobeGuy

23:07 - the main reasons are simple: Pressure and visibility. To explore deep sea you need equipment that can withstand an insane amount of pressure. You also need to equip it with lights that shine extremly bright, so that you're able to see at least a tiny bit in that depth. From a hardware point it is easier to explore space.

@@RWhite_ Sort of true but also not. There really isn't any single part of the ocean that is "empty". Especially as you don't know until you look. But the thing is that it costs a lot of money and time to explore even a mile-wide column of the ocean and you really have to have a good reason to go if you want to claim any kind of grant money.
@RWhite_
@RWhite_ 12 күн бұрын
@@Unethical.Dodgson No, I'm pretty sure a large chunk of the ocean is just water and krill. Not only is life harder deeper in the ocean, but nutrients are less plentiful further away from the coast meaning life is also harder to sustain in the middle of the open ocean. Most oceanic life lives near the surface and closer to coastal areas. Everywhere else is a metaphorical desert from what I understand. As a result, there's just not much value in exploring the unexplored parts of our oceans.

@starfrost850

Here’s the thing about space vs sea. Space is a lot less pressure, like a lot less. To go into space you need to build something strong enough to keep a stable air pressure inside, one that doesn’t change. Water, however, is incredibly different. Water pressure increases rapidly and quickly, vastly outpacing the pressure requirements for space searching. It also gets really dark, as light gets distorted and dissipates, meaning we can’t see long distances using light, instead needing to rely on sound and sonar. Also the building requirements is harder, as it’s easier to build for tension (air trying to get out) than compression (water trying to get in.) Tldr space is easy mode for exploration. Everything terrifying about the ocean isn’t even from what lives inside of it.

The types of chairs that have adjustable height do so using gas filled tubes. The cheaply made ones don’t go through QA and can literally explode. The one shown with a metal rod sticking up isn’t even the worst case scenario, since the rod inside can end up detaching completely as it’s shot up, essentially no different than being actually shot by a bullet up the ass, only said bullet is a huge piece of metal. The explosions also have a chance of catching fire :3

Going underwater is different than space. In space there is 0 pressure, worst thing that can happen is your spaceship atmosphere being sucked into the void of space, and your air in your lungs getting sucked out. Underwater, the pressure varies on depth. Deeper we go, higher the pressure, and that pressure damages the equipment, and a small crack can lead into catastrophic accidents that leads into making mincemeat out of people...

Okay. So, the real reason why we can go to space but not explore the depths of the ocean is this funny little thing called pressure. See, space is essentially an empty void with nothing to create pressure. However, the deeper you go underwater, the greater the pressure. A submarine capable of traveling all the way down to the bottom of the Mariana trench has to be significantly more reinforced than a space shuttle, or it will be crushed by the water pressure long before it gets to its destination.

The reason why we explore space over the ocean so much is due to the difference in pressure. To break it down Barney style: We'll say Earth is at 0.5 for pressure for the baseline. 0 and 1 are Space and the Deepest we've dove, respectively. It's a lot easier to keep exploring 0, because there is a lot of 0 to explore, even with the tech we have. However, it's a lot harder to get to 2, because we don't have material that can be used for a reliable and safe vessel. Nor do we have the technology to make a hypothetical material. Sure, we could make a very large bathisphere, but it would have to be obnoxiously so, with only a very small hollow within it for people. It's doable, but there would be little to no return on doing so, because the occupent(s) wouldn't be afforded much of a window, if at all. Windows are incredibly weak points of failure on a submersible. Our best equipment, now, do no have very large view ports for that reason. It's one of the reasons the Oceangate sub was so dangerous.

Tbh, the idea of the vertical bath is something I have thought about a lot. Want to be submerged in a dunk tank with an oxygen breather connected and just kinda be the zerg spawn Incorrect about water, waters taste is where it comes from. The journey adds the taste. The pipes it went thru, the treatment, and with wells the ground it went thru

Water is interesting in a lot of senses. Beside the feeling of "cold" and "hot" when you drink it, you can taste a difference cause of the temperature. Also, water sounds different when poured depending if its hot or cold.

The thing about double words like 'had had' and 'that that' is that the first word is weaker than the second word and the second word is the stressed word. A sentence like 'All the faith that I had had had had no effect' is more like 'All the faith that I huhd HAD huhd HAD no effect'. 'That that' works *exactly* the same way. 'I wanna tell you that that car is broken' is more like 'I wanna tell you thuht THAT car is broken'. Weird thing is is that 'is is' though don't work that way, not usually, unless you're quoting 'is is', the first 'is' is the stressed word and the second is weaker than the first word, because the next word after 'is is' is 'that'. For example, a sentence like 'The thing is is that...' 'That' is the second stressed word besides 'is', which is the most stressed word in that sentence. In a sentence like 'What it is is a bomb' 'Bomb' is the second stressed word, not the second 'is' nor the indefinite article 'a'. You might've noticed this pattern much earlier with 'Weird thing is is that'. Grammar's interesting, but the multiple hads can be annoying sometimes and more often than not are skipped. Edit: Slight spelling adjustment.
