I blame Seth as well. and you too. I've been watching both your videos , becoming inspired to get a mountain bike. I have 80 acres of woods and I've come to the decision that there's quite a few places that I will never be able to reach with any vehicle , but making some mountain bike trails sounds like an awesome way to enjoy more of my property . I already went out and got a saw blade attachment for a weed eater to take care of those nasty bush honeysuckle in the way of my new bike trails. Thanks for sharing!

Glad you enjoyed it. BTW, Seths Bike Hacks also has a new channel called Berm Peak Express that is a little more nitty gritty on the "how to" and such. Cheers Seth A!

Living in North Texas we have rolling hills but no mountains but we still build trails. My two granddaughters are 5 & 8 and get to spend a few weeks a year. Last year I managed to build about 0.4 miles of single track in my 2 acre back yard. They live in Colorado and developed some pretty impressive mountain biking skill with parents who ride with them. Besides riding in Colorado they head to Moab regularly so these kids can ride. I bought them a couple of decent bikes when I knew they were coming so they could entertain themselves. It is nothing like the parks and trails they are use to but they tried to wear them out. The terrain is terraced on a hill dropping down to a creek below. Plenty of climbing and lots of turns and loops make up the 0.4 miles. After trimming a few trees and clearing some brush I was able to mow close to the ground except in rocky areas, then used a DR Trimmer with heavy duty line set on lowest level to clear all the way to the dirt. Hopefully I can add a few features and berms this year. The terracing provides nice rolls on the way down and nice climbs on the way up. That DR Trimmer made clearing the grass much easier. It also helps keep the trail clean of grass when it isn’t used enough. Good luck on your trail but do yourself a favor and try a walk behind string trimmer with the biggest gauge line you can run.

Now that I found your channel I have to apologize for the comment about walk behind trimmers. I went back and saw your earlier post on trail building and see you are already using one. But it does work well for me. That’s what happens when you join the party late.

Shut Up and Ride , I had to put in a few cut offs and loops and lots of turns to get that much. But I’m a little like you and find it fun to build. I see we both follow many of the same KZbinrs and it’s nice to watch your podcasts and interviews . I got subscribed with notification alarm on so I’ll be waiting . Good job Matt!

@mtbboy19934 жыл бұрын
@@ShutUpandRideMTB I am still using 2.30, 2.25 is lowest I would go and decent round shape and proper kno s, but 2.30 feels good, my Ice Spiker are 2.25 I haven't tried bigger on my bike but 2.4 is probably the biggest I would go for 23mm rim. But I am destroying beads on Massis tyres so I think I should try something different.
