Next time sear the meat first. Then you shouldn't have to worry about it going to room temp. Or put it in a ziplock bag next time and put that in Luke warm water. But searing it first gives it more flavor. ^_^

Next time brown the mear in a skillet on all sides then put in the slow cooker. This will trap the juices and warm up the meat

Just seeing this but for the future....if I forget, lol, to get things ready for room temp. I put a heating pad on my (vacant) space and put on high. In about an hour it's good. My mother taught me this and she passed in 2001 at 73. Oh and I am the youngest of 7 and she had us over 20 years. Mother could be a genius, when she wanted to be, lol.

The rib roast isn't a disaster. Sear it on the stove top and pre cook in the oven then plop it into the slow cooker. Or, tell everyone to come an hour later. Disaster averted. 😊🌹

Girl, you sound like me from the beginning of starting your cooking. Thanksgiving cooking requires more than one cook...lol How come you didn't put the beef in the slow cooker overnight? I like how you cut the sweet potatoes, mine seems to be chopped in various sizes. i will it your way next time i make them....thanks for sharing.

Have you considered using chicken or turkey sausage ground turkey or chicken? You can purchase it ready made or make your own(simple recipes available online). I don't eat pork, but I have purchased ground no pork sausage from better grocery stores as well as farmers markets as well as specialty meat shops Middle Eastern communities. After all it's for Dad. Thanks for your awesome organization tips.

I'm superrr late and a new subscriber!! For the pound cake, take your butter out a day or so before. And the eggs (or both) the night before. If you absolutely forget then get warm water and sit your eggs in it for 5 minutes or so and you'll have room temp eggs. As far as the Prime Rib sear it off which will give you a head start (even if you're behind) and it'll give it a beautiful crust.

I slept in on Thanksgiving too! Regardless, we got everything done by one (Ham, scalloped potatoes, yams, Brussels sprouts, stuffed shells, stuffing, and rolls)! I might have to look into those fancy disposable plates, I had way to many dishes to do after! haha.
