I made the corn bread dressing and Mac and cheese by looking at your thanksgiving videos from years prior and it was a BIG HIT this year!!!!! Thank you so much. According to my sister the dressing (stuffing) tasted like what We had on a trip to New Orleans so even with the jiffy it taste authentic!!

Jia a little info, if your sister and dad don’t eat pork try getting the vegetarian jiffy, because the regular one does contain lard. I don’t eat pork so I decided to read the box and was surprised at what I had been eating. Everything looks so yummy!!

We had smoked turkey and mashed potato and sweet potato and biscuits and jellied cranberry sauce and green beans and gravy and pumpkin pie with whipped cream and spiced sparkling apple juice. We had a good time.

Ohhh...I also tried Stove Top Kisses candied yams for the first time. They turned out great...BUT even though it was very difficult not to...I did NOT stir or turn them over until the very end like she said, but instead of just turning over the top layer, I carefully dug down to the bottom and brought those to the top and let the top ones fall to the bottom. I had way more potatoes than she did and I made three different batches for my large family gathering. They were a hit. 😊

We make a similar dressing (more sage) but put large cast iron frying pan in HOT oven oiled up. When it is smoking add dressing in a thinner layer and back into oven “until it’s done” - well browned. The inside is done - but the CRUST! 😉

On the menu: baked ribs with apple habanero barbecue sauce, corn bread dressing with turkey gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry’s sauce jellied. Yeast rolls that were pre frozen dough, home made Mac & cheese, and brined fried chicken wings without flap cut in half. Delicious. Hi! Instead of the bread crumbs i have an alternative which is delicious. We use it in austria for heavy meat meals, it‘s a dumpling with bread and it is sooo delicous! The name is semmelknoedel. You use old bread, mix it with eggs, milk and a bit of flour and the for dumplings. You can either cool it in hot water or - what i prefer - bake it in the oven. We also sometimes put cheese in in (called kaspressknoedel). Try it! Google the recipes with the name.

I do have to say, those Jovial noodles your sister was using in her mac are THE BEST gluten free noodles!! No gluten free texture whatsoever! I’m really particular about the feel of gluten free foods but those noodles taste just like the real stuff.
