Just for your info., in front of that marvelous restaurant, there is one hotel/restaurant named after Kenyan's touch place - we/they call it/or was (Harambe) beside on the corner of Gas station on the cross road. By the way, I had good memory over there because I kissed my only son mother over there for the first time after knowing each other for 14 years working together in CBE, the next day she conceived, now my twenty years old boy!

I've cooked a few Turkeys since moving to the states and I can tell you, its a really lean bird...which makes it taste bland and dry by itself. Chicken is more flavorful. Turkey dishes usually need a lot of brining, marinating or butter conditioning to add flavor and moistness. And in most cases, side dishes like gravy or mashed potatoes to make it more palatable. Ultimately Thanks giving is not in our Ethiopian culture, but it's good to try new things. Thanks Giving, here in America, started when the first white settlers arrived and were having trouble getting through the winter. The Native Americans helped and fed them. Turkeys were large and plentiful so it became the default dish of the Holiday. Eventually the white settlers attacked the natives. The white settlers who arrived in America were "thankful" for their safe arrival, but they also massacred the natives. So some people choose to call it Turkey day instead of thanksgiving, since there is nothing to be thankful about when considering events that nearly led to the extermination of native peoples.

Beautiful restaurant! Here in America, Thanksgiving started as a celebration of the first White people who came to America. They were starving but the native Indians fed them by hunting turkeys for them and giving them corn (maize). Of course, once the White people felt better they attacked the Indians and took everything they had.😢 Now people are starting to realize that this is an embarrassing story, so people just give thanks for blessings and family togetherness. 😊

we dont actually celeberate thanks giving in ethiopia cuz its a western culture more of like the americans and most of the ethiopians dont eat turkey religious and personal reasons ...but i think the history behind turkey is the was a war in the wwestern countries and the soliders and the ppl were starving then the turkey started to come out of the forest like an offerin so they were saved from starvation and death so on that day they thank there god for givin them food by eatin the turkey

There is no tanks giving in ethiopia Thanks giving is European American , It is not ethiopian. Thanks giving is good. You might say... Keep your good to yourself we don't want thanks giving.... don't bring garbage to us Keep your colonial master culture to yourself how good it is thanks giving, At the end it is a hidden instrument to replace non European tradition by European tradition For us, it is dispossession, and to make you culturally colonized .......
