When you’re a fulltime guide at Habitat Flats, the holidays don’t exactly come with vacation time. While some of the guys have their fathers visit for Thanksgiving, most turn to each other and the family that is created within our team to celebrate. From the food to the traditional Thanksgiving Day hunt, Habitat Flats is a welcome home for the holiday!

Exactly why I quit guiding. It's fun and I do miss it A LOT but more so I miss my friends, family and the time spent with them. Soon as I had kids there was no way I could miss Thanksgiving and Christmas. Only get one chance to watch em grow and I look forward to instilling my passions for the outdoors in them. Enjoy the "guide life" boys. It goes fast but know that there is more to life after guiding.

sg255010 There’s no better job than DAD! I’m lucky my wife and I were able to build our family where I hunt. But if it can’t settle out like that, there’s no other option than to be with family!

@@tonyvandemore you absolutely have the ideal situation as head guide/Owner when your back yard is your business. If I could only have it that way and be able to walk through the door at the end of the day to see my wife and kids would make it a dream job...and that exactly is what you have. But I do agree of any job out there DAD is the best and I appreciate that Tony its a lot of sacrifice for family but its worth every bit of it. God bless and good luck this season
