That’s a grey area, I imagine the gauntlet being used on something not from the universe would be like what happened in booster gold vs green lantern sinestro. Booster thought he was invincible against sinestro since it was during the time green lanterns couldn’t affect anything yellow(like his costume). Sinestro countered this by using his lantern ring on things that weren’t yellow(like the ground) to attack booster. I think a focused enough mind could find a way to eliminate darkseid’s presence using the gauntlet, but thanos is not that mind.

Which in this case Thanos can't take down superheroes without the IG, he's like he hulk but with experience. In the Infinity comic one, I saw that Thanos couldn't defeat Thor,Cyclops,Vision,Wolverine,Cap and even Spiderman without the IG. And even created a clone to kill the others. Look at Darksied he doesn't need magical gloves like Thanos. I know that Darksied has Omega beams, Strength, Strong skin. Darksied has minions too, but mostly the time he fights the JL alone.

My favorite thing is that while Deadpool is trying to sell the chair to him, Darkseid actually seems to be _Considering_ it. Deadpool: It can fly, it can teleport, it'll send you through time and space! Darkseid: I can do all those things already, but it _does_ get tiring. Deadpool: And it's PERFECT for gaming! Darkseid: hmmm, this _would_ be good for playing DOOM Eternal. Thanos: *Destroys Deadpool* Darkseid: Damn, I liked him.

infinity gauntled is like a gameshark/dev mode for his universe, while i do agree that by just taking him to another universe would render him powerless to Darkseid i think he would be able to kill Darkseid avatar in his universer and block him from reappering(not that it would be a defeat to Darkseid, but it would at last avoid thanos own death)

Unfortunately, Death Battle DEMANDS a “Death”, so simply making Darksied unable to return the fight was out of the question, however logical that would have been. In fact, A LOT of Death Battles could have gone differently if the goal was to simply end the fight as completely as possible (Entombment, Mind Control, Possession, Banishment, etc…)
