okay this confirmed my suspicions.. i had a feeling the pole with the grooves was a lot more shortened in this, i was oiling my overseas earlier and noticed the pole under the oil hole had a wire going through it, rather than being able to see the oil drip onto the top bearing like typical. nowww it all makes sense. it’s a shortened pole but STILL has the grooves. very interesting

I am very interested to see this. My Original is one of these but a later 2017 model. Because I live in the UK getting an original Original is impossible - they don’t exist. We lived in the States when I was a kid and my fan obsession started then. I have a huge collection of desk fans including imported Laskos, Galaxy, Sears, Lakewoods, etc. My Original was actually destined for sale in Spain (a 240v model) and while it isn’t as powerful as an American fan, it’s well built - body wise anyway. The blades that came with it are MDF but I managed to get a set of five genuine Walnut blades from Florida on eBay so they’re decent at least.

Post-2015 has a 4” main bearing shaft and has windings screwed on the motor housing. The motor still looks the same when assembled.

I might have to do this with mine because mine has never been cleaned at all

Very interesting to see what it looks like inside. Im wondering is there a way to prevent the clogging for the oil
@Thanson1994153 жыл бұрын
Honestly the oil return line is not that small, the hole is about 3/16th of an inch. But I’d still check the oil annually and probably change it every 2-3 years

@@Thanson199415 oh ok also was curious if it’s ok to use slightly thinner oil

I have this overseas Hunter original from this era. The motor hums but doesn’t turn. Upon partial disassembly the rotor is very difficult to turn by hand. I was planning to clean the bearings and shaft as advised. If it is in fact seized is the fan trash? This is the polished brass model so I would prefer to repair if possible.
@Thanson19941516 күн бұрын
@@joecoty3981 ooooffffff!! I wouldn't say it's trash, it depends on the severity of how seized the motor is and the condition of the bearing. It sounds like it hasn't had any maintenance on the oil if any at all and the motor is locked up. If you manage to get the motor free and the main bearing lubricated, you may have bearing noise afterwards. But if I were you, I wouldn't give up on it plus it's a beautiful polished brass

@ I can turn it with difficulty but I can’t remove the arbor. It begs to use a gear puller to remove. The bearings looked fine and the shaft is clean and oily. I’ll have to take off the ceiling at this point to get better leverage. Thanks for your reply.

How do I know if my original classic Hunter fan is American made or overseas?

The "flywheel" in this case = rotor

How do I remove stator on Chinese hunter original motor ? 2 wired broke off when trying to rebuild motor. Need to retire. Gary
@CeilingFanVideosOnYT7 ай бұрын
First remove the rotor. On 2002-2015 Original it’s nearly impossible to remove the stator. On post-2015 Original you can just unscrew the screws on the stator.
