I like Wiim amp i got two weeks ago. If the pro was available in the shops here i would have bough that instead. To my use them both are awesome i think. I will certainly follow Wiim what they will release in future.

Returned the Wiim Amp Pro after a day, I was really trying to be ok with the audio quality but I just didn't like it. The functionality, user experience and app are all great but the audio sounded thin, inaccurate at times and often a bit harsh. I am a very happy owner of two Wiim Minis but wanted to give the Amp Pro a try to streamline a small system by reducing it's footprint and introducing a remote which that system does not have. Sadly, the Amp Pro doesn't come close the the amp I was attempting to replace. Back it went. Nice video, appreciate your time & work!

@@Tharbamar I did play around with EQ/PEQ and I was not satisfied. Yes, I could make incremental improvements but I felt like I wanted to make constant changes depending on what music I was playing which is definitely not the case for my original amp. I also tried the room correction software and that result was surprisingly terrible.

@@user540000 I have one listening area where space is a premium. Currently using a DIY clone of a Leben CS300 amp, Geshselli DAC, Wiim Mini and DIY Bagby Adelphos speakers. In an attempt to free up space, reduce heat from the Leben amp and gain a remote, I tried the Amp Pro in this system. My other system is Wiim Mini, Yamaha A-S1200, Gugnir DAC, DIY Carmody Amiga speakers.

@@nesutoneko automatic room correction is not always ideal, as always sound is personal preference. Anything that makes you enjoy your music is always a winner in my book.

For a better comparison of the sound quality, it would be much better if you switched in segments of about 10 seconds. This is how you can compare different parts of a musical composition. Yes, I understand that it complicates the installation, but it also indicates the quality of the comparison. Another question, have you heard an improvement from PFFB? Thanks for your job!

Belden 9497 wire is popular with vintage equipment and tube amps for some reason. Maybe because it’s tinned? It looks very nice

thank you so much for this great review, as always. Currently I have a RegaIO 30 watt amplifier, I would like change my current amp, with something like wiim Ultra Pro. I eventually would connect it with a pair of Klipsch 820. ( up to 97 db )... could it be a good idea?

PEQ and Room correction feature alone may be worth trying for your higher sensitivity Klipsch.

I had both. The Marantz is louder and well built. It also has a quality feel but if you are talking about just sound quality the original Wiim amp is better.

Because it lacks the power to drive the speakers, it sounds compressed and small. Very bad! This is the first time I have heard a very bad sound on this excellent channel!

Hi, that is most likely due to brightness from loudness war of online streaming services. I would play around with PEQ in WiiM Ultra from 1Khz to 8khz range.

Pro sounds a little better than the original but useless to me until they roll out Roon on the new unit. I didn’t realize that it wasn’t Roon ready when I bought the new Pro version☹️

​@@Tharbamar the amplifier will drive much bigger speakers....opinion of @СергійСтаніславович-г6т due to the low price of the Wiim. I have this Wiim with my private Sonus Faber Venere S and it sounds great! also tested for a few days with Kef R900 and JBL HDI 3600. Of course we won't make a concert like in a stadium but that's not what we want at home!

Not KZbin. Returned mine after a day. The functionality is fantastic, the audio is thin and sharp. This is the third inexpensive class D amp I have tried, I think I'm officially done. Sticking with the Wiim Mini, a decent dac and my DIY Leben CS300 clone.
