@@impact0r I agree with the other guy, how about you contribute to the conversation. Is the SMSL DA9 a substantially better unit with that kind of a response? For the same price but lacking all DAC features one could assume the DA9 is better sounding, but requires a substantially higher investment to get going on something like a desktop setting.

Great review, thank you! It is very nice to listen to you. I have a question, I have a Audio Technica turntable lp120x with a built-in preamplifier. Will the signal come to the A30 clean as you say? No digital convertion? That would be great. And second question I am going to buy Elac Debut Reference B6 speakers for my small 20m2 living room. Will such a set be good? I tend to listen moderately loudly.

It’s clean and transparent sound but I would not recommend going above 90db range because it will not be refined sound as average listening level (60-80db) range, thanks

I'm driving a pair of Klipsch RF 5's with 8watt tube monoblocks. Sounds great. They are rated at 99 sensitivity. If you do low to medium volume listening, you'd be surprised at how great smaller watt amps sound.

I didn’t test the DAC on this amplifier.

AD-18 is a fully digital amp. This one has a DAC and D-class amp (a filterless one). So, this amp has a direct channel from RCA to a speaker. AD-18 uses a terrible ADC between. The D-class 12070 itself has a good technical data. But requires a proper pwm profile selected to sound the best. In general these two amps are similar in a “naturality” in a sound reproduction. You rather will think these are more or less good A/B amplifiers than a digital or a d-class

hmm so Loxjie A30 or AIYIMA D05? either one can be had for $170, the AIYIMA D05 seems to have more output, the pairing will be with HECO Aurora 200 speakers, which has SENSITIVITY: 89 dB

do you think this'll be strong enough to power a pair of 40W-140W@6ohm Unifi 2.0 UB52s? it's honestly my only concern since though it "should" being rated at 80W per channel, ASR measured only 40W of "clean" power delivery before significant distortion as it approaches the rated 80W

hi i was a previous owner of a nad d3020 v1 and upgraded to a smsl da-9. i would say that the da-9 has a wider soundstage and a more neutral presentation. 3020 is warmer with more bass and less sparkle on the high frequencies. Hope that helps u

@@wot1508 Thanks alot. I acctually sent the NAD d3020 back due to missing remote and it doesnt have the tone control (bass/treble) I felt that the bass was too much. I thought opposite due many reviews say it lacks bass a bit. I ordered loxije a30, due to its nice reviews. I was also considering the smsl da-9, but I took the sligthly cheaper loxjie instead. Will see how good it perform probably tomorrow it arrives.

@@Tharbamar Thanks for your input. I've owned earlier generations of Atoms and they've been great. This system will only be played at lower volumes, so 95db will never happen. For me, the wild card was the A30, not the Atoms. Thanks again.

@@Tharbamar I wanted to add a follow-up to my question. I did acquire an A30 and a set of Atoms. In my environment, the rear port on the Atoms was too much for the 11' x 16' room and the bass was too strong. About a day after I got them, Elac began discounting the Uni-Ref UB5.2 by 35% ($455). The Atoms were exchanged for the Elac's and the front port was far more compatible with the room. As for the A30, for $185 it's hard to put into words the value it represents.

bought one, but no matter what input device i use i just get static out. Been an issue with them lately and if you use RCA even more background static. I am not a fan of this amp as even when connecting to RCA or BT or even TOSLINK the volume from 0-60 does absolutely nothing. no matter the phone/ipod/laptops/computers i connect even with nothing connected to this amp all it does is spray static everywhere. Switch it out for any other amp i have no static. replace it twice still static. My friend who bought one a while go (and why i got it) plug his into my setup no static. Try and 3rd replacement and still only get static. took my 3rd replacement to his house and all his speakers now are STATIC... remove and put his a30 on and no static. I think if you have an older one its fine the newer one SUCKS. I tried from my Realistic LAB-440 turntable > Pro-Ject - Phono Box S2 > Loxjie A30 = STATIC tried connecting laptop usb to Loxjie A30 = static tried s22 ultra, s21 ultra, pixel 6 pro using BT all STATIC Yes i checked ground/outlet and everything. After 3 replacement i gave up and went with SMSL AO200 and no issues

Yea exact same issue as me. Gone through 3 replacements and tested wtih my friends a30 in my setup. NO ISSUES put my a30 in his setup all STATIC IT's Garbage now
